Thieves ram car into Dublin city centre store in early morning robbery

Dubliners woke up to chaos after a car smashed into a store in the city centre today.

Thieves rammed a vehicle into the Three store on Henry Street in the early hours of the morning. Gardai were called to the incident in the city centre.

Officers are currently at the scene investigating the incident of "burglary and criminal damage". Pictures circulating on social media show the massive damage caused by the robbers.

Images show a mangled storefront with shattered glass and broken metal door with a car backed into the shop. A garda spokesman said: "Gardaí are investigating an incident of burglary and criminal damage at a business premises on Henry Street, Dublin 1, Tuesday July 4, 2023.

"The incident occurred in the early hours of this morning. Investigations are ongoing."
