Thierry Henry tells Manchester United why they should sign Harry Kane over Victor Osimhen

Thierry Henry has urged Manchester United to focus their attention on Premier League experience and Harry Kane over Victor Osimhen.

Erik ten Hag's summer plans for a world-class striker have been well documented in recent months, and MEN Sport understands the Dutchman has earmarked Tottenham star Kane as the prime target. The 29-year-old will enter the final year of his contract come June and could agitate for a move in search of silverware.

Osimhen has often been cited as another United target, the Nigerian striker quickly becoming one of the world's most deadly forwards to help his Napoli side to an almost certain Serie A title. On Wednesday evening, the 24-year-old starred once again with two goals as Luciano Spalletti's side progressed past Eintracht Frankfurt into the Champions League quarter-finals.

Speaking after that 3-0 win for the Italian outfit, Henry and Jamie Carragher discussed the merits of two of Europe's top forwards, with the former Arsenal frontman tipping English experience over a more wildcard option.

Asked which of the two he'd take at United, Henry said: “Again, Sorry Spurs fans. Sorry Napoli fans. But we are talking about now something that can happen or not, it’s far from it.

“But, again, because of the Premier League and he knows the Premier League. If I am Man United, then I go Kane. That doesn’t mean Osimhen isn’t a good player, or whatever. It’s got nothing to do with that.

“I think Osimhen can adapt in any league. But I am Man United, then I will look at ‘okay, this guy doesn’t need to adapt to anything and he has a way of dropping that can allow Marcus Rashford to run in-behind him when he drops’. Kane can play anywhere, by the way.”
