Thierry Henry has admitted that Jude Bellingham can have a Steven Gerrard-like impact if he signs for Liverpool.
The 19-year-old midfielder remains one of the hottest prospects in world football following his astronomical rise at Borussia Dortmund after becoming Birmingham City's youngest-ever player. Jurgen Klopp's side remain fiercely linked with the England international but are said to face competition from Real Madrid and Manchester City.
This summer is set to see the saga of the Dortmund midfielder ignite further with discussions over his future intensifying with manager Edin Terzic facing questions prior to their Champions League second leg against Chelsea.

Ahead of their last-16 clash with the Londoners, Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards joined Henry who raved about the Liverpool target. Speaking to CBS Sports, he said: "He's all-round, he's complete, he likes to show some movement, skills going forward.
"What I like about him is the way he always wants the ball, he never hides whether he has to defend or to attack, he's always on the ball looking to see if he can feed his strikers.
"This is what I like about him, he's willing to try and get the ball back - it's not only about skills in football.
"He's going to get that ball, see if he can play, he's going to go around and pass it, be available and pass it to his mate again. He can do whatever he wants at this particular moment and we all know this is why a lot of people want him because he has that in his locker.
"Taking the ball, going the other side, dummying the player and finishing with the outside of his foot, what a player. A lot of teams want him, we all have an idea of where he might end up, Jamie right?"
Carragher, who hasn't been shy in expressing his admiration for the England international amid links with Merseyside, added: "Hopefully, fingers crossed," before asking Henry what midfielders he reminds him of.
"It's a tough one, he's a modern type of guy. I played with Xavi, Iniesta more passers of the ball then Yaya Toure was lower," he said.
"Patrick Vieira had a bit of that but Patrick was more tenacious, getting the ball back so when he was going it was very difficult to stop Patrick.
"Everyone remembers Patrick for kicking and all of that but Patrick could play and score goals from time to time. He is a new, modern midfielder and that's why everyone wants him, he can do almost everything."
With the speculation surrounding a move to Anfield and his performances for the Three Lions, he has drawn comparisons with the legendary Reds captain - Steven Gerrard. Carragher probed the former Arsenal striker as to whether there are similar qualities between the pair.
"Yeah he does, I have to say," said Henry. "It's a tough one, I loved the way Stevie G used to play, Stevie G had something - he used to grab his team with him and everyone played better.
"I go back to that final goal, I saw you look at him and go 'we'll follow you' and Stevie G had that. I don't know if he has that but if we talk about that quality that what he has and if he goes to that team that we all know you love, he can have that impact."
