Thierry Henry sends Kylian Mbappe Liverpool transfer message after Real Madrid defeat

Micah Richards has urged Kylian Mbappe to join Liverpool or Manchester City instead of moving to Real Madrid in the summer - but Thierry Henry disagrees.

Mbappe has been in sensational form this season, scoring 25 goals and registering 17 assists in 35 games for Paris Saint-Germain.

The forward has been consistently linked with a move to Liverpool but looked to be on the verge of signing for Real Madrid last summer.

Real, it is claimed, failed with three bids for the World Cup winner, who is out of contract on June 30, and is currently free to agree a pre-contract agreement with clubs outside of France.

PSG have been looking to tie Mbappe to a new deal for some time but it has been reported that those talks have now reached an impasse.

Paris were knocked out of the Champions League to Real Madrid on Wednesday night despite Mbappe firing his side ahead at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Talk quickly turned to the forward's future after the game, with Thierry Henry claiming the forward will join Real in the summer because he wants to play for the team he supports.

However, Richards, speaking on CBS Sports, believes Mbappe should look to move to the Reds or City as they are 'the two best teams consistently' in Europe.

Richards kicked things off saying: “I don’t think he should go to Real Madrid though. Like Thierry said, ‘his mind might be already made up’.

“But I would be going to Manchester City or Liverpool. They are the two best teams consistently, I would say in Europe.

“Yes, people will say 'Man City have never won the Champions League'. But, the way they play, the points record. I would be going to either Liverpool or Man City.”

Before Henry responded: “You still have players nowadays that still want to play for a team that used to support or like. I can understand that. I don’t know anything.

“But, sometimes, players are like 'I used to support the team'. I don’t care who plays well in Europe, this is where I want to go because this is what I feel. I think that might be the case with him.”
