Thierry Henry provides Rangers backing for Gio van Bronckhorst but admits shock at Ibrox factor

Thierry Henry insists that former Arsenal team-mate Giovanni van Bronckhorst is doing a fine job at Rangers.

The Dutchman is coming under intense pressure after weeks of performances that have fallen below standard for the Ibrox club. They are out of the Champions League and have lost all five of their Group A games against Napoli, Liverpool and Ajax so far by an aggregate score of 19-1 ahead of closing their calamitous campaign at home to the latter next week.

A 1-1 draw at home to Livingston last Saturday has set the stage for a huge home Premiership game with Aberdeen this weekend, trailing Celtic in first already by four points. Henry played with the Rangers manager during his time at the Gunners and the legendary French forward insists that while Europe hasn't served him well this season after May's Europa League final spot, his former teammate is doing good things in the Light Blues hotseat.
