Thierry Henry makes Erling Haaland prediction amid Arsenal vs Man City Premier League title race

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has made a staggering Erling Haaland prediction after the Man City star scored his 24th goal in all competitions in the Carabao Cup win over Liverpool on Thursday. Despite not having played a competitive game for over a month, Haaland returned with a bang scoring City's opener in their 3-2 win against Liverpool at Etihad Stadium.

Despite his ridiculous goal scoring stats already this season, City are five points off leaders Arsenal at the top of the Premier League with both teams having played 14 out of 38 games. Their title battle has taken numerous turns with the Gunners being dealt a blow after Gabriel Jesus underwent knee surgery that will keep him out until February at the earliest.

Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola confirmed that Ruben Dias suffered a hamstring injury at the World Cup, with it looking likely he could miss the next month of action which would total City's next eight fixtures.

City do still have Haaland, though, who could certainly be the difference-maker in the title race. Especially if the Gunners are unable to either sign a consistent goal scorer to replace Jesus in January or develop one of their current players to carry the burden of being the club's main goal scorer.

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has now given his insight into Haaland from the perspective of a striker who used to tear up the Premier League, which included making a staggering goal scoring prediction which could have disastrous consequences for Arsenal.

Speaking on Amazon Prime Video's YouTube channel to Ben Foster, he said: "I think in his time with Man City, he will have a game with six goals with the amount of chances Man City create. Will he reach a 50 goal a season? Not in the league but overall he will hit 50 plus."

Henry managed 175 goals from 258 Premier League games while Haaland currently stands at 18 goals from 13 games. And if the Norwegian does remain in England for a number of years, he could beat the tally reached by the Frenchman.

Although both players have a knack for scoring goals, Henry, who is currently a coach for the Belgium national team, revealed the key difference between his and Haaland's playing styles.

"I couldn't stay in the game and touch the ball five times and still be focused to be ready to score," he said. "Me? You would've lost me. I'd have battled with everybody, argued with everybody like 'give me the ball, I need to touch the ball' but that was me.

"If I was right or wrong but that's him and that's a skill, to touch the ball five times, the other day he touched the ball five times and scored two, it's just stupid. It's the perfect combo, the way City creates and how he is, the perfect combo."
