Thierry Henry has already given Edu green light to complete Marcus Rashford deal with Man United

Thierry Henry has already told Mikel Arteta why Edu must bring Marcus Rashford to the Emirates in the summer. It’s no secret that signing a new striker is at the top of Arsenal's list as they look to replace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who departed in January, Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah, who each see their current deals expire at the end of the season.

Though Rashford has struggled to find the net this season, scoring on just four occasions in 19 Premier League outings, the Manchester United forward has already been tipped by Henry to fulfil the the Gunners' needs. Earlier in the season, reports surfaced claiming that the England international was unhappy at Old Trafford.

The Mirror have since claimed that the Gunners are interested in signing the 24-year-old this summer. The report ignited a circus of speculation on social media, pondering Rashford's potential role under Arteta.

From fans to pundits, Arteta was told why he shouldn't sign the forward. However, Henry, who scored 228 times in 376 appearances for the north Londoners has already thrown his hat in the ring.

Speaking in December 2019, Henry, who similarly transitioned from a winger into a number nine, claimed that Rashford has shown that he has the tools to follow the Frenchman's positional pathway. Arsenal enjoyed success from Aubameyang's dynamism prior to his exit, making the Englishman a reputable target.

"I always liked him. Sometimes you suffer from what you have," said Henry, who was on punditry duty for Amazon Prime Video. "That means, he’s quick. People want him to play on the left or the right because he’s quick.

"I think he can do a hell of a job as a number nine. I always have confidence in him in front of goal. But I like his tenacity. He’s lively, he runs at people. People are seeing him with a different eye now and he needs to keep doing this."
