Thierry Henry is happy for Stan Kroenke to remain at the helm of Arsenal despite attempting to oust the Gunners owner in a failed takeover bid.
In April 2021, the club legend was one of several Arsenal heroes to back Spotify founder Daniel Ek in his attempt to buy out American billionaire Kroenke.
At the time, fans were furious at the lack of investment in the team, which would fail to qualify for European football that season, and the Gunners’ role in the European Super League debacle.
Fast forward to current day, however, and Henry has declared his happiness at Stan Kroenke’s ownership and son Josh, who is a director at the Premier League leaders.
He told House of Champions podcast: “At the time [Ek] wanted to offer a solution to the fans, who were all saying 'sell, sell, sell' but sell to who.
“We offered a solution, it wasn't meant to be. I'm an Arsenal fan, let's win. It doesn't matter. We were there to offer a solution, you want it, you don't want it, it doesn't matter.
“Now everything is okay, why would anyone want to disturb anything ?
“It’s all I wanted. Whether it was me in or me out I wanted Arsenal to be successful. That's the main point.”
