A young shop worker was left terrified after a man threatened her with a screwdriver before robbing money from the till.
Tori was working by herself at Mr Sweet on Blessington Street in Phibsboro yesterday when the robbery took place.
She told Dublin Live that the man walked into the shop at approximately 4:45pm and asked for directions, before holding the screwdriver to her neck.
She said: "He walked in and asked where the North Circular Road was.
"I didn't even think, I went around to serve him and he was in my face and he put the screwdriver up and said 'open the till, open the till now or this is going through you'.
"I ended up opening the till and he was like '€25, this is all you have?'
"I was like, we've taken in €3 today, it's a Sunday and there's a storm outside and this is an ice-cream shop.
"He said to show him the rest of the money but there wasn't any other money in there."
Thankfully the man then left the shop and Tori was uninjured.
She shared CCTV footage of the incident on social media and was contacted by others who said that the same man had robbed seven other businesses over the past three weeks.
A garda spokesman told Dublin Live: "Gardai are investigating an aggravated robbery incident which occurred at a shop in the Blessington Street area of Dublin 7, yesterday evening, Sunday 20 February 2022.
"An amount of cash was taken from the premises. No injuries reported at this time. Investigations are ongoing."
