Thick black smoke was seen billowing down a major road after a minibus burst into flames.
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service were called to Walton Hall Avenue, Walton, near the junction of Queens Drive at around 5.40pm on Thursday, April 27. Around seven minutes later two fire engines arrived at the scene to find a minibus well alright.
One firefighter wearing breathing apparatus used one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire. Eyewitnesses who drove down the road at the time of the incident said there was "loads and loads of traffic and black smoke".

The witness added the smoke was "burning his eyes and throat". Video from the scene showed flames had completely taken over the van, carriageway and grass bank as people stood on the pavement watching.
Cars were forces to use the outside lane to avoid any damage to their own vehicles. Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service confirmed there were no reports of any injuries following the fire.
Pictures taken by The ECHO show the minibus completely burnt out on Walton Hall Avenue.
