Here are your evening Liverpool headlines for Thursday, February 9.

Five things spotted in Liverpool training as Thiago absence explained

Diogo Jota stepped up his return from injury by taking his part in Liverpool's training session on Thursday afternoon.

The Portugal international, who has missed the last four months of action, made his comeback earlier this week and was again involved on Thursday as Jurgen Klopp put his players through their paces ahead of Monday's visit from Everton in the Merseyside derby.

Jota hasn't featured since suffering a serious calf injury in the closing stages of the 1-0 win over Manchester City on October 16 but was part of the club's contingent who flew to Dubai in December as he continued his rehabilitation at the renowned Nad al Sheba Complex.

Arthur Melo sends five-word Liverpool message after midfielder offers training boost

Liverpool midfielder Arthur Melo has issued an update on his recovery from injury after making his long-awaited return to first-team training this week.

The Brazilian, who made the temporary move to Anfield from Serie A giants Juventus on September 1, has only made one appearance for the Reds so far, which came during the final minutes of September's 4-1 thrashing at Napoli.

The 26-year-old former Barcelona midfielder had used September's international break to train and play with Liverpool's under-21s as he featured in the Premier League 2 clash at Leicester City before being named in the starting XI for the club's Papa Johns Trophy visit to League Two outfit Rochdale.

However, in October, Arthur was forced to undergo surgery on a thigh injury he sustained during training and has therefore missed four months of action with Liverpool and the 2022 World Cup with Brazil.
