Thiago Silva's wife hits back at critics after what was said during Chelsea's loss to Brentford

Thiago Silva's wife Belle has hit back at some comments made during Chelsea's heavy thumping at the hands of west London rivals Brentford in the Premier League.

Silva, 37, was away during the international break with Brazil and only played as he came back one day earlier than Christian Pulisic, as revealed in Thomas Tuchel's pre-match press conference on Friday. So no wonder his performance was described as 'uncomfortable' in football.london's player ratings from the contest.

Perhaps the most uncomfortable Thiago Silva has looked in a Chelsea shirt for a long while. The movement of the Brentford front two, Toney and Bryan Mbeumo, was problematic for the Brazilian, and the Bees were able to drag him out of position when part of a centre-back duo. The Brazilian was more composed in the middle of a three, but the visitors were ahead at that stage of the contest. 5', his rating read.

But overall, it wasn't just his fault that Brentford hit four past what looked like an off-colour Edouard Mendy and back four who were cut open on many occasions during the full 90 minutes. Something that Tuchel couldn't really explain and justify post-match. "You don't need to lose as a consequence. I am aware of it, and I am aware that my expectations were not too high about this match from the start. It is difficult after an international break to play as the favourite, to dictate the match and break down a difficult and well-organised team," Tuchel responded when asked about the impact of the international break on the performance.

"They are a very physical team. It makes things very difficult. I agree if we conceded the first goal and second one and could never catch up, but we were in the lead and in charge. I didn't see it coming. I felt us getting better and better. I felt that we deserved the first goal, got a beautiful first goal, and I don't know why the next 10 minutes cost us the game." However, one moment in particular annoyed fan favourite Belle Silva, who watched on from the family boxes of the players in Stamford Bridge. Of course, the game wasn't shown on English TV due to the 3 PM blackout, but Belle has admitted to watching the highlights. Something that was a mistake in hindsight as one thing got on her nerves.

A certain 'attacking' remark was made against Silva during the commentary, and Belle wasn't having any of it when she came to her husband's defence. He looked mentally fatigued due to his exploits during the most recent March international period with his home nation Brazil.

She ranted on her Instagram account @bellesilva: 'I'm here in my box at Stamford Bridge. I just listened back to the commentary right now and what the commentator said.

"'Thiago is not attacking enough.' Respect him, please. Thiago Silva arrived yesterday as he played for Brazil. Thiago Silva is very tired, and he's 37-years-old. He's played since he was 20-years-old so respect to him- he's not a machine, he's human, so he needs to relax, alright."

It was a rant that received much support on social media from the Chelsea following, who agreed with a lot of what she had to say on the matter. Here is some of the best reaction. @JorgiCfc admitted: 'God, I love her.'

@chelseafran tweeted: 'She's dam right.'

@Sas_jeff reckons: 'She has a point.'

@bayoadeshoga then turned the tables on Tuchel: 'Still can't understand why Tuchel started Thiago, really! I was expecting him to be rested for Madrid on Wednesday! I was expecting Christensen to actually start today! She's right. Thiago is not a machine & TT shouldn't overuse him!!'

Silva himself didn't mention the commentator stuff but still gave his reflection with his tweet on @tsilva3: 'Good days make you happy. Bad days bring you experience. Both are essential for life. Happiness makes you good, but troubles make you strong. Pain keeps you human, falls keep you humble. Success keeps you bright, but only GOD keeps you standing (Denzel Washington). WE keep going.'
