Thiago Silva's wife, Belle Silva, has vented her frustration at a collision her husband was subject to in Chelsea's 2-1 win over RB Salzburg. The 37-year-old defender played a key role against the Austrian side as the Blues booked a place in the Champions League knockout stages.
He's now featured 13 times for the west Londoners across all competitions this season, completing 90 minutes in all but five of Chelsea's possible fixtures. Graham Potter is said to be managing Silva's minutes accordingly amid a congested fixture schedule in order to reduce risk of injury.
But, despite the Blues boss' attentiveness, the Brazil international was subject to a huge injury scare. Silva engaged in an aerial duel with Salzburg forward Roko Simic which saw the defender land awkwardly on his upper back.

Silva stayed down in pain and quickly received medical attention. Thankfully the Brazilian was okay and he soldiered on to guide Chelsea to victory.
But, his wife, Belle, wasn't best pleased with the challenge and thanked God that Silva was okay. Taking to Twitter, she posted: "Is it a soccer game or MMA?? Thank God for this deliverance."
Silva sees his contract at Stamford Bridge expire at the end of the season. And, it is up to the defender whether or not he'd like to extend his stay at Chelsea, according to Potter.
"I think the decision is Thiago's," the Blues boss said. "I've been here 3 or 4 weeks. I see his qualities. He's an incredible person, incredible player.
"The level he can play at, the performance level he can reach, and the respect he has through the game is just incredible. All I can do is try and help him enjoy his football here, be part of a winning team and all of the rest is something for him and the club to think about."
When asked about his future at Chelsea, Silva was reluctant detail his plans. However, he did concede that it will soon be time to begin talks with Chelsea.
"In public is not the right time to talk about new contracts, so I can not accurately answer this question," the defender said. "For me now, what is important is to continue playing to a high level and helping the team achieve the best possible results.
"For sure, there will be a time when we will need to talk. It could be before the World Cup or after the World Cup because, of course, I need to know whether I will have a new contract with Chelsea for my family arrangements. It is not easy. If I don't have a new contract, I will have to decide what to do, and also, for my family, this is an important decision, so we will see what will happen."
