Thiago Silva's wife can't contain herself as Chelsea lose again under Graham Potter

The wife of Chelsea defender Thiago Silva was left sobbing after the Blues were beaten by local rivals Fulham in the Premier League on Thursday night.

Chelsea lost 2-1 at Craven Cottage as Joao Felix’s debut turned into a nightmare for Graham Potter. Former Chelsea winger Willian put the home side ahead in the first half with a deflected effort after a mistake by Trevoh Chalobah.

Kalidou Koulibaly pulled a goal back from a set piece after the break, but things soon went wrong. Felix was sent off for a poor challenge on Kenny Tete in the 58th minute and Fulham took advantage of their numerical advantage when Carlos Vinicius headed in Andreas Pereira’s deep cross to make it 2-1.

Fulham held on to make it four straight Premier League wins, while defeat left Potter under severe pressure, with one win from the last nine. The Blues are 10th in the league and are currently without 11 players due to suspension and injury.

It is a hugely difficult time for the club and Silva’s wife, Belle, did not hold back on social media. “Oh my God!!!!!,” she tweeted alongside a blue heart and crying emoji.

Later she added: “If there was a @tsilva3 in attack and one in midfield, with what we already have in defense…”

On her Instagram account she was even more dramatic, following a matchday post of her husband and one of her and her daughter, she posted a video of her crying on the sofa. The caption in Portuguese translated as: “Me with the Chelsea game.”

Belle is never afraid to share her feelings on Chelsea’s performances, with a cryptic message coming after their 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Manchester City in the FA Cup on the weekend. “I just think that going back or looking for solutions when you take a hasty and totally wrong attitude is not wrong. #goblues,” she wrote on social media.

After the match, Potter lamented the red card to debutant Felix before calling for unity from his players.

"I think we controlled the game early, won the ball back high, created some opportunities [but] maybe missed the last pass,” he said. “We made a couple of mistakes for their goal. Second half, I think we responded well and then the red card changes the game [and] makes it a little more difficult for us.

“I thought the application when we went down to 10 was really good. Disappointed with the goal because I think we could do better and that is what cost us. We have got to keep working. There are no other solutions, you have to keep working, stay together and try to get the three points."

Chelsea face Crystal Palace on Sunday before matches against Liverpool and Fulham.
