Thiago Silva questions Anthony Taylor on Marc Cucurella hair-pull decision with furious message

Thiago Silva has questioned referee Antony Taylor as to how he did not see - nor act accordingly to - Cristian Romero grabbing a fistful of Marc Cucurella's hair. In the build up to Tottenham's stoppage-time equaliser against Chelsea, the north Londoners were awarded a corner after the Argentine was seen dragging the Spaniard to the ground by his hair.

Taylor was pictured to have been in direct eye-line of the altercation at the time of corner's delivery, though he waved for another corner as Edouard Mendy tipped the ball over. The Video Assistant Referees at Stockley Park stepped in to review Romero's hair-pulling incident, but they too dismissed Chelsea's claims of violent misconduct.

The referee signalled for Spurs to take the proceeding corner, which saw Harry Kane glance a header beyond Mendy at the far post. After the final whistle, red mist descended on Stamford Bridge and yet another clash between Antonio Conte and Thomas Tuchel broke out, resulting in Taylor sending both off.

Taylor, who has a history of controversial decisions against Chelsea, has faced great backlash, with supporters - of many clubs across the world - and professionals of the sport - including Bastian Schweinsteiger and Cesc Fabregas - casting doubt as to how a red card was not issued to Romero.

Veteran Blues defender Silva has had his say on the matter. And it's fair to say that he's not happy either.

The 37-year-old posted the above image on his Instagram story the hours after the London derby. Enraged by the decision, Silva captioned his post: "You didn’t see it? That’s not possible. Is pulling hair allowed?"

On the refereeing performance, Tuchel also had some harsh words for Taylor in his post-match press conference - for which he is set to be investigated by the FA: "I don’t think just some of the fans think that [Anthony Taylor has made some poor decisions against Chelsea]. I can assure you the whole dressing room of us, every single person, thinks that

"I can’t understand how the first goal is not offside and I can’t understand when a player is pulled by their hair, the other player stays on the pitch. Pull someone else’s hair, stay on the pitch and attack the last corner.

"This is for me without any explanation and I don't want to accept it. Both goals should not stand and it’s a fair result because we were brilliant, deserved to win. This is my point of view."
