Chelsea star Thiago Silva has revealed he believes Reece James can become 'one of the best players in history' following the 3-0 win against AC Milan.
James is enjoying a strong vein of form despite the change of managers at Stamford Bridge and has become one of the first names on the teamsheet since breaking into the first team back in 2019. The Chelsea defender has proven he can influence the team in attack and defence, highlighted in his last two performances after he was able to keep Crystal Palace superstar Wilfried Zaha quiet at the weekend before scoring a crucial goal against Milan on Wednesday night in the Champions League.
James continues to be compared to Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold with the debate as to who starts for Gareth Southgate's England side at the 2022 World Cup rumbling on. At just 22-years-old, James continues to go from strength to strength and Silva has tipped the England international for great things in his career.

Following the win over Milan, the Brazilian centre-back was asked about his teammate and responded with a stunning prediction. Speaking to HaytersTV, Silva said: "He is a very young athlete but looks like he [James] has been playing football for so many years.
"It's easy to talk about him because he is a guy I really like. I hope he can continue with this winning mentality."
Since breaking into the first team, James has won the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup. His best years are still ahead of him which is a frightening thought for opposition teams with Todd Boehly looking to continue the Blues' successes by adding young, talented stars like Wesley Fofana to the squad and support the club's ambition.
"He is a guy that really works hard and deserves all this success with the performances he is having, " Silva added. "He is one of our strengths in the team both offensively and defensively and I hope he can continue like this.
"If he keeps this winning mentality, he has everything to be one of the best players in history."
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang echoed Silva's verdict when asked if the 22-year-old is one of the best in the world, as the Gabonese striker responded: "Yeah, for sure. For me he's the best in the world at the moment.
"He is doing an amazing job. You can see today, with a goal and an assist, I think he is on top form."
