Liverpool contested a 0-0 draw against Merseyside rivals Everton on Saturday as they dropped points for the fourth time this season. They'll look to transform their fortunes on Wednesday night as their Champions League campaign gets underway with an away clash against Napoli.
They'll still be without a handful of first-team players, however, as injuries remain a problem for manager Jurgen Klopp. The Reds were boosted by the recent returns of Joel Matip and Diogo Jota, but Jordan Henderson is the latest name to be added to the list of players on the sidelines.
Ahead of the midweek game in Naples, here's a round-up of those out injured and when they could potentially return to action.

Jordan Henderson
Skipper Jordan Henderson was withdrawn from Liverpool's win over Newcastle last week with a hamstring problem and he missed the draw with Everton over the weekend. Klopp admitted ahead of the derby he didn't know the extent of the midfielder's injury, but recent reports suggest he could be out for a few weeks.
“Hendo we don’t know. Nothing yet, still waiting for the result. He is definitely out, injured but don’t know the extent,” the boss said in his press conference on Friday.
However, a report from The Athletic on Monday claims Henderson had a scan on Friday which confirmed he only suffered a 'minor strain' on his hamstring. The article adds he is set to be sidelined for around three weeks and could return for the Reds' home game against Brighton on October 1.
Naby Keita
Midfielder Naby Keita is yet to feature for Liverpool this season as his injury woes continue. He missed the latter stages of pre-season and the first two games with illness and was primed to return for the blockbuster clash against Manchester United last month.
However, he wasn't named on the teamsheet at Old Trafford and it was later confirmed he suffered a muscle injury. He hasn't been named in the Champions League squad, suggesting he could be out for some time. The group stage concludes in November before the season breaks for the World Cup.
Fabio Carvalho
Liverpool were handed another minor scare over the weekend as youngster Fabio Carvalho was withdrawn from the derby with a dead leg. Amadou Onana was booked for a late challenge on Carvalho late in the first half and he remained on the turf for some time, but was able to carry on until the break.
He was replaced by Roberto Firmino at half-time and Klopp later confirmed the 20-year-old had a dead leg. He told BT Sport: "I'm not 100% sure but I think it's the muscle above the knee, a massive dead leg and very painful. One of the most painful things you can get - it should settle quickly but we will see."
There has been no suggestion so far the issue is significant - but he could be a doubt for Wednesday's game against Napoli. The Liverpool boss will likely issue a further update when he faces the media on Tuesday evening ahead of the Champions League tie.
Ibrahima Konate
Defender Ibrahima Konate has been sidelined since the end of pre-season when he was forced off with an injury in the defeat to Strasbourg last month. An accidental collision in the friendly resulted in a knee problem for the Frenchman and he's unlikely to return anytime soon.
Klopp later revealed he could be back in training around the international break, which suggests he won't feature for Liverpool this month. “In and around the international break, he will be back in training," the Liverpool boss previously confirmed.
Thiago
Liverpool have been boosted this week by the return of Thiago as he took part in training on Monday. The midfielder has been sidelined with a hamstring problem since the start of the campaign as he was withdrawn in the draw against Fulham.
The Spain international has been a big miss for Liverpool in the last few weeks and it was a welcome sight to see him back in action. However, it remains to be seen whether he's ready to return to action midweek.
The manager said before the Everton game: “Thiago is the closest of all [of them]. I think at the start of next week, he will be in team training.” Klopp will likely issue a further update this evening on his fitness and the game he's likely to be ready for.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
Like Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is another player that has been sidelined for the entirety of the season so far. The midfielder made a positive start to pre-season, but was forced off with a problem in the win over Crystal Palace during the tour of the Far East.
He's been out ever since and he too hasn't been included in the Champions League squad for the group stages, indicating a return isn't close for the 29-year-old.
Calvin Ramsay
New Liverpool signing Calvin Ramsay is yet to make an appearance for the club after he signed from Aberdeen in the summer. An injury was identified during the youngster's medical and he didn't play a part in pre-season.
Klopp suggested Ramsay is close to a return, however. “Calvin is still out but really getting closer and closer," he said last week.
“For him, it was something with his back, something to do with age and growing and these kind of things. He didn’t train now properly with us, but he gets closer.”
