Thiago Alcantara hands Liverpool major injury boost ahead of Champions League clash at Napoli
Thiago Alcantara has handed Liverpool a major injury boost by returning to full training ahead of their Champions League group opener.
The Spaniard has been absent since suffering a hamstring strain six minutes after half-time in the Premier League clash at promoted Fulham on August 6.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp suggested last week the 31-year-old was "close" to a return and had been pencilled in to resume team training at the start of this week.

And having been put through his paces at the AXA Training Centre on Monday, Thiago could now come into contention for a place in the matchday squad for the Champions League game at Napoli on Wednesday.

Liverpool do not rank in the top 10 of leading European teams when it comes to net transfer spend over the last decade.
Boffins at the CIES Football Observatory have delved into the numbers regarding every window since the summer of 2013 involving sides from big five European leagues in England, Italy, Spain, Germany and France.
Using widely reported fees that include all eventual add-ons, they have calculated the Reds have spent £1.02billion on transfers, placing them eighth in the overall list of top spenders.
Indeed, the current squad has been assembled at a cost of £670m, behind only Manchester City (£874m), Manchester United (£735m), Chelsea (£701m) and Paris Saint-Germain (£666m).
