Former Premier League defender Richard Dunne has told Everton to sell Dele Alli once the summer transfer window opens.
Alli was a January arrival from Tottenham Hotspur as the Toffees attempted to bolster the squad ahead of the relegation battle. The England international featured 11 times at Goodison Park but failed to register a goal or assist in the second-half of the season.
Everton did manage to avoid relegation to the Championship on the penultimate day of the season and manager Frank Lampard will look to strengthen his side over the summer to avoid another season like the 2021/22 campaign. Alli joined the club in a deal which could rise to £40million depending on clauses and add-ons.

Given that Alli has not reached the lofty heights he did under Mauricio Pochettino at Spurs, Dunne has called on Everton to cut their losses now and save money on a player who could 'cost them millions.'
“I think for Dele it was an opportunity to prove himself and earn a contract," Dunne told the Express. “He’s done ok, but he’s not done enough to start in the team and Everton needs players to start next season.
“So if Alli is going to cost them millions they would be foolish not to look around and see if they can get someone they can trust and they know will be available.
“He’s not proved that over the last six months.”
