A driver speeding at more than double the limit will soon receive a summons to court in the post after being caught by traffic cops.
Officers from Greater Manchester Police's Traffic division captured a Seat travelling at 82mph along a 40mph road on Tuesday evening (April 18).
Sharing a picture of the vehicle, which was caught driving at the high speeds along the East Lancashire Road (A580) near Worsley, police said the driver would soon face a day in court for the offence.

Warning drivers to 'watch their speed', a post shared by GMP Traffic said: "Well the driver of this Seat will get a day in court that's a certainty! 82 MPH in a 40 MPH Zone.
"A580 East Lancashire Road earlier tonight near to Ellenbrook Road, Worsley. We enforce the speed limits regularly. Watch your speed."
Currently, the minimum penalty for speeding is a £100 fine and three penalty points added to a licence. Drivers caught speeding will either be served a Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN) or a letter telling them to go to court, depending on the severity of the offence.
