Everton have been urged by one of their former players to sign one of Europe’s top strikers in the January transfer window.
The Blues were light on attacking recruitment during the summer window, despite Richarlison completing a £60million move to Tottenham Hotspur. That, combined with injuries to Dominic Calvert-Lewin, have left Everton short of goals up front.
Frank Lampard ’s side have scored just 11 goals in their 15 Premier League fixtures this season, which puts them as the joint-second lowest scores alongside Nottingham Forest, with Wolves at the bottom with just eight.

One player who has been tentatively linked with a move to Goodison Park is Lille striker Jonathan David. The Canada international has reportedly attracted interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs, and whose future is currently the subject of speculation.
Former Everton star Kevin Campbell has urged his old club to go and sign David when the transfer window reopens in the New Year. Campbell, who scores 48 goals during his time with the Blues, feels that the Lille striker would give Lampard’s side a much-needed boost.
“I think Everton have to really look at that. They have to,” Campbell told Goodison News . “Because goals change the team. If you’ve got somebody up there who can put the ball away, all of a sudden you’re putting teams under huge pressure, and then you’re relying on your defence to keep teams out. Teams have to come onto you and you can catch them on the break.
“So you need to have one or two, or three, players who can put the ball away. Everton, one week they’re fine and the next week they look like they’ll never score.
“So to be able to get a player like Jonathan David in, he can put the ball away, I think would be a really good move. Put it this way, they have to consider it, for sure.”
