Newcastle United supporters have rubbed further salt in Tottenham's wounds by taking to social media, poking fun at their top-four rivals reimbursing supporters who travelled to St. James' Park last weekend. Eddie Howe's side blew their Champions League rivals out the water in an incredible opening 21 minutes on Tyneside, going on to win 6-1.
The fallout of the game has been catastrophic in North London, with Daniel Levy sacking interim boss Cristian Stellini and the Spurs' players have since said they'll reimburse supporters' tickets from for the game against the Magpies. A statement on social media read: "As a squad, we understand your frustration, your anger.
"It wasn't good enough. We know words aren't enough in situations like this but believe us, a defeat like this hurts. We appreciate tour support, home and away, and with this in mind we would like to reimburse fans with the cost of their match tickets for St. James' Park.

"We know this does not change what happened on Sunday and we will give everything to put things right against Manchester United on Thursday evening when, again, your support will mean everything to us. Together - and only together - can we move things forward."
Newcastle fans could not resist the temptation to respond to the tweet, having been on the wrong end of a number of poor results in recent season.
Here's what Newcastle United supporters had to say on social media:
Mouth of The Tyne tweeted: "Spurs fans that travelled to SJP got to see Sundays spectacle for FREE! What a treat for them! Thank us later, guys. We'll try and get you another free ticket next season. Perhaps we can make it a yearly tradition?"
@_DanB_19 tweeted: "Haha banter club."
@Botman1738 tweeted: "Eddie's making teams give out refunds."
@Reublinton said: "Howe ball man."
@JInufc18 said: "We’ve forced them to sack an interim coach, reappoint Ryan Mason, watch Jacob Murphy score a brace, lose out on UCL and now reimburse their fans. Little old Newcastle eh."
