'They completely lost it' - Pundit outlines how Leeds United 'chaos' made Wolves capitulate

Mark Lawrenson believes that Wolverhampton Wanderers completely lost their way under the chaos of Leeds United’s football in the Whites’ 3-2 win at Molineux on Friday. Leeds recovered from a 2-0 half time deficit to comeback and earn an incredible three points to make it back-to-back victories for the second time this season.

Jesse Marsch was forced to use four substitutions inside the first 55 minutes with Patrick Bamford, Diego Llorente, Matuesz Klich (concussion) and Illan Meslier all coming off due to injury. But with the help of Raul Jimenez’s red card, Leeds rallied to victory thanks to goals from Jack Harrison, Rodrigo Moreno and Luke Ayling.

Although it has now been three weeks since the departure of Marcelo Bielsa, it was a game where it felt as if his fingerprints were all over it due to the crazy nature of it. And speaking on Football Focus on Saturday morning, Lawrenson was surprised to see such an organised Wolves side succumb to the madness of Leeds, while former Brighton striker Glenn Murray also believes that the result was more down to the way the hosts fell apart.

Lawrenson said: “It was chaos wasn’t it? That’s watching Leeds - that’s what happens. Everybody tunes in to watch them because it’s either up or down and they play exactly the same way. The problem that Wolves had - they’ve been so calculated under the manager, they completely lost it. It’s as though the way that Leeds played affected them in the end. I know they were down to 10 men but what a fabulous watch.”

Murray then added: “I think it’s more of a capitulation from Wolves. 2-0 up in the Premier League at half time cruising and lose the game from that point - you should manage it better. Obviously Leeds spirit spurred them on, like you said last-minute winner last week, come from two behind today. I’m not sure about the celebration [from Ayling].”
