These Videos of Sad Astros Fans Leaving Game 7 of ALCS in Sixth Inning Are Too Good

Game 7 of the ALCS on Monday night in Houston was a snoozer, especially for Astros fans. The Rangers got out to an immediate 3–0 lead in the first inning and never looked back, cruising to an 11–4 victory to clinch their third pennant in franchise history.

The Astros kept it close for a little while, but the game started to get out of hand when Texas’s four-run fourth made it 8–2. Nathaniel Lowe’s two-run homer in the sixth really put the game out of reach, at which point many Houston fans decided they’d seen enough.

Several reporters in the stadium shared videos of the fans streaming toward the exits after Lowe went deep.

Some people might say that real fans should wait it out until the bitter end, but it’s tough to blame them for skipping out early. Why sit in the stadium and watch your team continue to get crushed when you can get home and go to bed early?

Neither of playoff games on Monday night were all that compelling. The Phillies’ offense barely made a peep in a 5–1 loss to the Diamondbacks in Game 6 of their series, and dispirited Philadelphia fans were seen heading for the exits at the end of the eighth inning.
