North Coast 500
Discussing the NC500, which was described as Britain's "most famous" road trip, the publication highlighted the great number of concerns from locals about over-tourism in the region caused by the decade-old route.
Because of this, the newspaper has recommended that those wanting to come here visit in the quieter autumn months, a time of year when the Highland forests "turn a burnt umber".
The official motoring route begins in Inverness and "snakes" north to take in "exceptional" views of the sea and lovely white-sand beaches.
There are also plenty of opportunities for camping here, but visitors should be respectful of local communities and the environment.

Western Isles route
The newspaper said that while North Coast 500 is "spectacular," there is something "decidedly more tranquil" about driving to the Western Isles.
Starting in Barra, a scenic island known for its "jaw-dropping" coastline and famous seashore runway, drivers will be taken by ferry across to North Uist, where abundant wildlife awaits.
After exploring the island, visitors should then go to Skye to enjoy freshly caught seafood.
From here, they'll want to journey to Harris and Lewis for some "remarkable" archaeological sites, including the "evocative" Standing Stones of Callanish.
