These Fetching Pleated Tops Definitely Deserve Top Billing Over Pleated Skirts This Season

It seems like pleated skirts are always on what's currently trending lists. We get it. There's something overtly appealing about all those folds swishing back and forth while we walk. Depending on their material, they work well in both warm and somewhat cold weather. We've decided, however, that it's time for something else to step into the spotlight. Which is why we're throwing our support behind pleated tops.

They actually defy trends since they instantly perk up any spring or summer outfit. Obviously, Issey Miyake leads the field. The designer does have a whole diffusion line where pleats are in the name, after all. Plenty of other fashion houses supply covet-worthy creations. Since Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez are moving on to run Loewe after Jonathan Anderson's departure, their pleated Lyra Top is sure to become a collector's item. Chloe's take falls right in line with its boho ideology, while Versace incorporates its iconic safety pin decoration into its folded crop top. Ulla Johnson's bold blue offering looks good on its own or paired with its costar, a perfectly pleated skirt. Jil Sander's asymmetric topper also works beautifully with its coordinating skirt.
