With the festive season just around the corner, many of us look forward to cosy evenings on the sofa with a steaming mug of hot chocolate and a good Christmas movie on the box.
There’s no place like home for the holidays, but have you ever dreamed of living in one of the stunning properties featured in the films?
Well, you may have to reconsider as a recent study has revealed the staggering amount they are currently worth.
From Home Alone to Elf, Hammonds Furniture has shared the current value of the festive pads which star in your favourite Christmas films.

The Holiday: California Mansion - £9,048,000
Since its first airing in 2006, the California Mansion owned by Cameron Diaz ’s fictional character, Amanda, in the Holiday, is the most expensive house on the list.
Originally built by famous architect Wallace Ne, those looking to purchase the sprawling seven-bedroom mansion would have to splash out a whopping £9,048,000 in 2022 to be able to do so.
And the findings show it’s not the only home made famous by festive films that would set you back a substantial sum, with five of the eight properties analysed as part of the study currently valued at upwards of £2million.
Love Actually: Peter and Juliet’s Notting Hill House – £2,496,000
The iconic doorstep scene from Love Actually where Mark confess his love to Juliet on handwritten cards is a crowd favourite to get you into the festive spirit.
But the Notting Hill home, which is inhabited by Keira Knightley’s character, has seen a significant increase in value since the film aired in 2003.
The eye-catching pink exterior at 27 St. Luke Mews can’t be missed and is now valued at nearly £2.5 million, a dramatic 275 percent increase from the £665,000 it was worth when the festive rom-com was released.
Miracle on 34th Street: Susan’s Dream Home - £2,279,000
Susan’s dream home from the 1994 version of the Christmas classic, Miracle on 34th Street, consists of a five-bed house complete with swimming pool and is located at Washington Road, Lake Forest, Illinois.
The property is today valued at £2,279,000 and is one of the smaller increases of the famous movie properties on the list, seeing just a 38 percent increase from its release in 1994.
Elf: Walter Hobbs' Apartment - £2,257,850
This Christmas list would not be complete without the much-loved comedy, Elf, starring Will Ferrell as the loveable Buddy.
The New York apartment, owned by Buddy’s father Walter Hobbs, is located in the sought after 55 Central Park West apartment blocks - and is worth an absolute mint.
If Walter’s two-bedroom property is more your cup of tea, then you’ll be looking at dropping an estimated £2,257,850 if you want it to be yours.
Home Alone: McCallister Household - £2,002,000
The iconic Illinois house, which Kevin McCallister defended from burglars during the Christmas holidays, would currently set potential buyers back more than two million pounds ($2,246,000).
Last sold for $1.585 million in 2012 - similar to one million pounds at the time - the house on Lincoln Avenue has seen its value increase by 162 percent since 1990 when it was sold for approximately £763k ($875,000).
Love Actually: Natalie’s House - £1,010,000
The popular rom-com appears on the list for a second time as Natalie’s terraced house in the so called ‘dodgy end of Wandsworth’ is also worth a fortune.
The property is featured in the scene where the Prime Minister, played by Hugh Grant, came to profess his love for Natalie at 102 Poplar Road at Herne Hill, in the not-so dodgy Borough of Lambeth.
The house is now valued at £1,010,000, a drastic 344 percent increase since 2003 when it was valued at £227,000.
The Holiday: Rosehill Cottage - £813,500
While the California mansion featured in the Holiday is valued at over nine million pounds, the other property at the centre of the house swap would now cost you £813,500 - a 63 percent increase from its £499,000 value in 2006.
Sadly, Rosehill Cottage, owned by Kate Winslet's character Iris, doesn’t exist in reality and its exterior was specially designed for filming.
However, the real cottage that inspired set designers is called Honeysuckle Cottage and can be found in Holmbury St Mary in Surrey.
The Nativity: Mr Maddens' House - £466,000
While the Christmas musical comedy, the Nativity!, doesn’t boast properties as grand as others on the list, Mr Maddens' Kenilworth home is now worth £466,000.
The three-bedroom terrace house is still nearly £200,000 above the UK’s average house price and has seen a 63 percent increase since the film’s release in 2009.
