These are the three new rides at Barry Island Pleasure Park this summer

The sun is shining, and if you like fairgrounds, you are in for a treat this week.

This is because Barry Island Pleasure Park has got not one, but three, new rides.

If you're a bit of a dare devil then the Star Flyer is probably the one for you.

Standing at 55m high, the ride is claimed to be one of the highest of its kind in Europe. Images show the ride towering into the blue sky with seats attached ready for those who are brave enough to "fly" in it.

Other new rides at the park this summer include Wild Mouse and Rock City, which aims to rock its visitors back and fore.

Wild Mouse can be seen a mile off with its yellow and purple design.

The huge rollercoaster has been thrilling visitors so far this week, and is a pretty sizeable creation.

Owner of the park, Henry Danter, said Wild Mouse and Rock City are open to all visitors, but Star Flyer isn't set to open until this weekend.

Speaking about the park, Mr Danter said: "We've got the biggest Barry eye in Wales.

"The Star Flyer is the biggest in Europe.

"I wanted to make this the most interesting amusement park in Wales, and I think I've achieved it."
