The best air fryers to buy for Black Friday 2024: hand-picked by a Homes Editor

5 Prime Day air fryer deals I'd buy.
The best air fryers to buy on Black Friday 2024

I've been tracking the best Black Friday air fryer deals for over a week, but as we approach Cyber Monday, some of my top savings just got even cheaper. I've been testing the top air fryers and toaster ovens for five years, and this year's Cyber Monday savings are some of the best I've ever seen.

One of the top savings I've seen today is on the Dreo ChefMaker, now 44% off at Amazon at $199. That's an extra $10 off Black Friday's top saving. Another bonus saving comes from Kohl's, where our top-rated toaster oven just got even cheaper thanks to a limited 20% off coupon that puts it at over 50% off. Just use code ENJOY20 to buy the Cuisinart Toaster Oven and you'll save over $150.

Best air fryers: quick list

You can find full details of my rankings below, but these are the 9 best air fryers you can buy for Black Friday 2024, and the best deals you can find for each of them.

  1. 1. Ninja Air Fryer Pro 4-in-1: was $119, now $79 @ Amazon
  2. 2. Cuisinart Air Fryer Toaster Oven: was $249, now $119 @ Kohl's
  3. 3. Ninja Foodi FlexDrawer: was $179, now $99 @ NinjaKitchen

I'm currently testing the Philips Dual Basket Air Fryer 3000 Series. I actually made dinner in it last night! So far, I'm loving it. One of my favorite things is that the removable inserts are really wedged in there with a silicone grip on each corner, so if you're tipping fries or veggies out onto a place, your insert won't come crashing out with them. I've ruined a fair few carefully-plated meals with that common pitfall.

This is quite an interesting dual zone air fryer, because the zones aren't evenly divided. I find that quite smart, because I'm rarely cooking two elements of a meal in equal volumes. Last night for instance, I cooked some broccoli in the small drawer (at a lower temperature, as it tends to burn) and air fried my chicken and potatoes in the large one.

Anyway, it's on sale right now with 35% off at Amazon, putting it down to just $129.99. I think that's pretty good value for such a well-made fryer.

Breville does air fryers a bit differently. These toaster oven-style machines are super-smart and a lot more expensive than the likes of Instant or Dash air fryers.

I'm a huge fan of Breville though, and if (like me) you enjoy having stainless steel appliances that all match, this brand is a good option. There's up to $100 off across its line of air fryer ovens right now, and while we've not tried all of them, we did try and love the Joule and the Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro.

I'm a big fan of the Instant air fryer line. The one I've got at home is the Instant Vortex VersaZone (also 30% off right now at Amazon) but the Vortex Plus 4QT is the brand's oldest model, and it's down by 54% to just $59 at Amazon right now in an impressive Black Friday deal. I've reviewed this one back when I worked at Real Homes in 2021 and gave it five stars, so it's a little outdated, but absolutely worth the $59.

What's the cheapest air fryer you can buy for Black Friday? I've not tested one, but it'd have to be a Bella air fryer. The absolute cheapest one I can see (from a retailer I trust) is this Bella 2 Qt. 1200-Watt Air Fryer, down from $64.99 to $20 at Macy's.

This is an analog air fryer, meaning you use a dial to choose your time on a 60-minute timer, but the biggest quirk with this option is that it has one pre-set temperature of 400°F. Which, to be fair, is probably the temperature you'll most commonly use on any air fryer.

(Image credit: Future / Millie Fender)

Single vs double drawer: which is best?

Personally, I'd opt for a double drawer over a single drawer air fryer. That's because I live in a two-person household and I can cook the vast majority of my meals in a double drawer. My oven doesn't get much use! However, there are some downsides to double drawer air fryers, also known as dual-zone air fryers.

For one, they take up a lot more space and don't necessarily offer a larger cooking capacity. The Ninja DZ201, for example, has a total 8-quart cooking space that's split between two drawers, so unless you'd regularly expect to cook less than 4-quarts, you may as well opt for a larger capacity single-drawer air fryer like the Instant Vortex Plus 6-Quart, which (as you can see from the picture) takes up a lot less space than the Ninja, and only has 2-quarts less cooking space.

One of the most interesting air fryer releases this year was the Midea Dual Basket Air Fryer Oven. It's an 11-quart air fryer, which is pretty huge, but because it's got one oven stacked on top of the other (similar to the Ninja DoubleStack) it manages to fit an upper 6QT basket and a lower 5QT baking pan into one relatively compact appliance.

When our freelancer Camryn tested it, she wasn't convinced by the bottom cooking element, which she found cooked unevenly. In her Midea Dual Basket Air Fryer Oven review, she gave it 3.5 stars.

So, it's not making it to the top of my must-buy list, but it's nonetheless a very cool air fryer for features, and if you want a huge capacity with limited counter space, it could be a good buy for you.

(Image credit: Future / Millie Fender)

What's the best small air fryer?

I'd go for the Instant Vortex Mini. This is the air fryer I had in my old apartment, before I moved to a place with a bigger kitchen. As you can see, it's got a tiny internal capacity, but this does mean it cooks extra fast, and that drawer can either go through the dishwasher or be cleaned by hand with ease. Plus, it's super cute.

I recently saw that Wirecutter has chosen this air fryer as one of its top three, and while I wouldn't agree that it makes the top of any list, I can see why they recommend it as a good no-nonsense fryer that's not too expensive, and takes up very little space.

Where are all the Ninja deals?

Not at NinjaKitchen, that's for sure. We typically see discounts a week out from Black Friday. In fact, I found a heap of Ninja deals on the official Ninja website only yesterday. But they've stowed those away for now, offering a very modest saving on a selection of (non-air fryer) products.

So, where should you go if you want a Ninja air fryer on sale and before Thanksgiving? Right now, I'd suggest you check out Best Buy.

Air fryer vs Toaster oven: which should you buy?

I'd buy an air fryer over a toaster oven every day of the week. Here's why.

1. Air fryers are easier to use

It's a lot easier to pull out a drawer with a handle than open your toaster oven door, break out some inevitably small and fiddly oven gloves, and wrangle a tiny shelf out of your toaster oven. And I'd know, because I've burnt myself when testing toaster ovens a number of times.

2. Air fryers have crispier results

Air fryers have a fan element that blasts your food with hot air from every angle. In my experience, they cook a lot faster and more evenly than a toaster oven. Plus, you can easily shake your basket to give your fries or chicken strips a more even bake, whereas you'd have to turn each fry or strip individually if cooked in a toaster oven.

3. Air fryers are easier to clean

My parents have a toaster oven, and to be fair, they adore it. But their only complaint is how hard it is to clean. Its door and interior shelves get caked in grease after each use, and it's incredibly easy to bake that onto your oven's interior. Getting it off is a real nightmare.

So, having tried more than a dozen of each, I'd definitely recommend an air fryer over a toaster oven for the majority of people. But if you do want a toaster oven, my top pick would be the Ninja 12-in-1 Double Oven with FlexDoor, $80 off at Kohl's. For air fryers, you can't go wrong with my top pick, the Ninja 4-in-1 Pro, down to $69 at Walmart.

If you're cooking for a big family this Thanksgiving, this XL Chefman air fryer is more than enough to get the job done. On top of blasting your food with hot air from every angle to cook it lickity split, this multifunctional appliance can also act as rotisserie, dehydrator and convection oven. Best of all, Amazon's slashing 40% off the usual retail price ahead of Black Friday, bringing it down to just $79.

ICYMI, our favorite Air Fryer is now cheaper than ever! The Ninja Air Fryer Pro 4-in-1 is a smart and simple option that is perfect for smaller kitchens — packed with easy temperature controls and four adjustable cooking modes.

And right now, you can pick one up for nearly half price.

Ninja Air Fryer Pro 4-in-1: was $119 now $69 @ Walmart

The Dreo ChefMaker is one of the smartest air fryers on the market. It's got steam functions, which can be a game-changer for cooking vegetables and fish, and an in-built temperature probe that we used to cook steak and chicken to perfection.

Another super-smart element is the machine's Chef Mode, which takes the reigns and tailors your cooking time depending on your meal of choice. In our Dreo ChefMaker review we gave it 4.5 stars and said "Yes it is expensive, but if you want a premium appliance that’s capable of taking the thinking, and to a certain degree, some of the skill, out of preparing delicious meals, then it’s an investment that’ll be worth making."

Save $170 on this weird, huge air fryer

Typhur, if you see this, please reply to my emails. I'm so intrigued about the Typhur Dome, but I can't seem to get my hands on it for a review. So for now, it's review-pending, but you can't deny that it's an interesting concept.

For one, it looks so space-age that it would be right at home in retro-chic kitchens. It claims to run at 55dB, which would make it the quietest of an air fryer I've tested, and it also has an immense capacity thanks to the low and wide design. The brand claims it can fit up to 32 chicken wings.

$100 off our favorite Breville Air Fryer!

Is it a toaster oven? Is it an air fryer? It's both! In our Breville Joule Oven Air Fryer Pro review, we absolutely loved this air fryer, awarding it 4-stars and a place among our top air fryer picks. It's the most versatile fryer/toaster we think you can buy, thanks to its huge selection of functions and accessories, plus its large tray which can fit an entire chicken. It also comes with a companion app, which is super handy.

It isn't perfect, getting hot to the touch, while its accessories are not dishwasher safe. However, we were happy to recommend this oven at full price, so we're even happier to now its on sale for $100 at Amazon (which happens to be its best ever price!)

Breville Joule Oven Air Fryer Pro: was $499 now $399 @ Amazon

Buy this instead

The Ninja DCT402BK 13-in-1 Toaster Oven is the next level up from our top pick of the best toaster ovens, the Ninja DCT401, but this awesome Amazon air fryer deal actually makes it cheaper. Reduced by 33%, compared to the DCT401's 17%, I'd suggest you opt for this more capable, cheaper model.

The DCT402BK features Ninja's FlexDoor, which allows you to split its generous internal capacity into two different sections, or combine them to use it as one large oven. You'll also benefit from bespoke settings designed for everything from pizza to cookies. Yes, cookies!

I'm a big fan of Instant air fryers, and one of my favorite things about them is that they offer a lot of value for money. These air fryers don't go on sale all that often, but when they do, I highly recommend picking one up. The Instant VersaZone is the air fryer I have in my own kitchen, which tells you everything you need to know about how great these appliances are.

The Instant Pot Vortex Plus XL 8QT ClearCook Air Fryer gets a particular shoutout for having a transparent panel at the front of the baskets, which will allow you to look at your food while it cooks.

The Cuisinart TOA-70 finally goes on sale

(Image credit: Henry T. Casey for Tom's Guide)

The Cuisinart TOA-70 Air Fryer Toaster Oven is one of the most popular air fryers in our buying guide, but with a base price of $229, it's pretty expensive compared to standard drawer-style air fryers. I've been tracking its price over the last few days, and it's finally gone on sale at Amazon.

Should I opt for a multi-cooker or an air fryer?

I bought my first air fryer shortly before I started reviewing them, and the model I opted for (in the Black Friday sales, no less) was a Ninja Foodi multi-cooker. I was sucked in by the myriad functions (13 settings in one machine!) and comparable price to Ninja's other air fryers. And while that's a good gadget, what I know now is that it wasn't what I was looking for.

Air fryer multi cookers are really good for those who want to pressure cook, roast, bake, sear, slow cook, and generally use every one of the settings. But for someone (like me) who is concerned first and foremost with air frying settings, you'll get a better performance from a standalone machine.

If you are someone who would make the most of a multi-cooker though, this Instant Pot Duo Crisp is 35% off at Amazon and does a pretty good job of air frying. Pro tip: use it to make one-pot pasta dishes, then pop the air fryer lid on and leave it to crisp up the top of your bake.

One of Ninja's best air fryers is under $100!

We reviewed the FlexBasket and named it one of Ninja's best air fryers due to its huge capacity and flexible double drawer. I wouldn't wait for Black Friday if you're interested in buying this one, I don't think it can get cheaper.

With a huge $80 discount, the FlexBasket is brilliant for families or those who like to batch cook.

Our favorite air fryer is no more affordable than ever before. Walmart's slashing the price of the Ninja Air Fryer Pro 4-in-1 Black Friday, and it's perfect for smaller kitchens. Its 5-quart capacity is more than enough space to cook a family meal or crisp up a batch of fries or chicken wings, plus it offers four functions including air fry, roast, reheat, and dehydrate.

Ninja Air Fryer Pro 4-in-1: was $119 now $69 @ Walmart

(Image credit: Future / Millie Fender)

The Ninja Max XL air fryer might be Ninja's most powerful model. They don't sell it directly from the NinjaKitchen site any more after it was replaced as the brand's flagship model by the Ninja Pro XL, which is also my top choice of the best air fryers (and $79 this Black Friday). However, the Ninja Max XL really impressed me when I tested it a few years ago, and if you want a really neat and compact air fryer that will cook crisp fries and sizzling bacon in a fraction of the time it would take your oven, it's a good choice with this 44% discount at Amazon.

Huge toaster oven sale at Target

Target's Black Friday prices are mostly tracking with other retailers, although a few air fryers are cheaper at other retailers (don't worry, the lowest prices are all listed on this page).

I've listed a few of the most impressive toaster oven air fryer deals below.

Save 47% on the Cuisinart Air Fryer Oven

One of Amazon's top deals of the day is a 47% saving on the Cuisinart Air Fryer Oven, reduced to $79 right now. Now, I've not tested this air fryer, but the Cuisinart Air Fryer Toaster Oven is one of my top picks, so if you're tempted by this deal I'm pretty confident it will perform well.

Perhaps the most interesting thing about this air fryer (other than the huge discount) is its transparent door which allows you to look at your food while it cooks. A few other brands have done this too, including Midea and Instant, and I really enjoy it for the ability to check on my food without opening the oven and letting out all the heat.

What's the best looking air fryer?

The Our Place Wonder Oven looks like one of those toy ovens. It's so cute and dainty, with three dials for analogue time, temperature and cooking modes, which would make it perfect for those who don't have a lot of oven space. And in Our Place's Black Friday sale it's reduced by $50.

In our Our Place Wonder Oven review, we found that it's very intuitive to use and pre-heated super fast. However, those analogue controls aren't as precise as a digital display fryer, and it could use a larger internal capacity.

When it comes to the most affordable air fryers, Bella makes some of the best for your money. If you're after a compact, digital air fryer at a low price, this is great deal at just $49.99 at Best Buy — a whopping 62% off. While it may be small, it features 8 built-in cooking functions that can handle a range of foods, including roast, broil, bake, dehydrate, and more. This deal is an undeniably great value for the price.

Bella Pro 8qt Digital Air Fryer: was $129 now $49 @ Best Buy

Get 50% off this budget-friendly fryer

We reviewed the Gourmia 6 Quart back in 2021, so a lot has changed since this air fryer came out, but I still think it's a good option thanks to this 50% discount at Target which puts it at $34.99. Of all the air fryers we've given 4 stars or higher, this one is now the cheapest.

Should I buy now, or wait for Black Friday?

I say this as someone who's already started doing her Black Friday shopping, I don't think we'll see discounts getting deeper on the deals I've already featured here. Ninja, for example, seems to have posted its discounts ahead of the big day, and in previous years they've kept pricing consistent throughout the sales event, so the only real risk is your wishlist product selling out. I've been checking the deals in this page every day, and most have stayed very consistent since last Friday.

However, if you've got your heart set on a product that hasn't yet been reduced, I think it's worth waiting for Black Friday and seeing if it's had a price-cut on the day itself. If not, you can always pick it up at full price knowing that at least you didn't miss out on a saving.

Save $70 on a small-space hero

My brother has this air fryer toaster oven. He lives in a tiny apartment and needed something that he could use to cook without taking up his entire counter Ninja Flip Toaster Oven & Air Fryer.

The smart design here allows you to pivot the oven so that it sits upright against your backsplash to give you space to prepare food. When you're ready to cook, just swing it down into position and make the most of its surprisingly large capacity. Very importantly to my brother, it can fit a 12" oven pizza.

What size air fryer should I get?

Apart from the price, the size of an air fryer is going to be a big part of your decision-making for Black Friday. You'll want one that can easily cook enough food for you and your family, but one that's not so big that it's going to take up a ton of valuable counter space or storage.

Capacity

Manufacturers will list the capacities of air fryers, which can go from as little as two quarts up to eight. But this number can be misleading. In order to get your food the crispiest, you should lay it in just one layer in the air fryer, so the effective capacity may be less than the stated capacity.

On the smaller end of things are models like the Dash Compact Air Fryer ($49 at Amazon), which has a two-quart capacity. Some larger units, like the Philips Dual Basket Air Fryer 3000 Series ($129 at Amazon) will even have two drawers, so you can cook foods at different temperatures.

Size

Of course, the larger capacity the air fryer, the more space it's going to take up, which could be an issue if you have a smaller kitchen or limited counter space. For example, the Dash model measures just 10.2 x 8.1 x 11.4 inches, whereas the Philips model is 15 x 17.4 x 12.3 inches. If you don't want to dedicate space to a single-purpose appliance, than something like the Cuisinart Air Fryer and Toaster Oven is a better option. It'll take up room, but it can do more than just air fry. And right now, it's just $149 at Amazon, a savings of $80 off its regular price..

Save 41% on this super-powerful dual zone

(Image credit: Future / Millie Fender)

Looking for a reliable dual zone air fryer this Black Friday? I higly recommend the Instant Vortex Dual Zone Air Fryer, down by 41% at Amazon. When I put it to the test in 2022, I found that it made perfectly crispy fries and had enough room to cook an entire meal for me and my partner in one go.

The dual zone design means each drawer can be operated powerfully and independently. I was able to cook tasty fish from frozen in just 20 minutes. My only real downside was that this is a particularly noisy air fryer.

The Philips Airfryer Essential Collection Compact is an oldie but a goodie. Philips makes really classy air fryers, with a patented 'starfish' design at the base that will improve air circulation around your food as it cooks. The Essential is the brand's entry-level option, but despite its name, it's not that compact. I managed to cook a whole chicken inside it quite happily, and it came out perfectly cooked with crispy skin, 15 minutes faster than the advised cooking time.

It's sold out on Amazon already, but you can still buy it at Williams Sonoma for $79 right now.

You may have seen that the Cuisinart TOA-70 is our top pick of air fryer toaster ovens, but if you're willing to compromise on size (and take a shot on an oven that we've not reviewed, but which I feel comfortable recommending), the Cuisinart TOA-26 Compact Airfryer Toaster Oven is pretty cheap right now. It's down to $79 at Amazon, to be exact, with a total saving of 38%.

Although it's small, it's still mighty. The top temperature is 450°F, which is hotter than most air fryers from Ninja and Instant, and it has a large enough capacity for 2.5-pounds of fries.

Get an extra 15% off at Kohl's with code SAVE15

The big day is here, and on my first sweep of deals I noticed that the Cuisinart Stainless Steel Air Fryer Toaster Oven has sold out on Amazon. Not to worry though, because I've found you a better saving.

Thanks to Kohl's SAVE15 code, you can knock an extra 15% off a number of my top picks at checkout. Here are my top picks.

What's the deal with Cosori?

If you're looking for Amazon air fryer deals, you'll see a lot of options from Cosori. But what is Cosori, anyway? It's a kitchen appliance brand that only appeared a few years ago, and while they make a few gadgets, they mostly make air fryers.

Are the air fryers any good? Actually, yes. I've tried a handful, and I always thought they stood up well against the likes of Ninja and Instant. And while they used to be quite cheap, they've clearly realized that people will pay almost-Ninja prices for their air fryers, because they're usually on sale for around the $90 mark at Amazon.

Our Homes writer Camilla tested the Cosori TurboBlaze Air Fryer this year and gave it 4 stars. And you might notice that it looks very similar to the Ninja Pro, my top pick. It's a bit different though, on account of the numerous preset buttons that some people enjoy, but I find a bit useless.

Other Cosori air fryers I've tested include the Cosori Compact 5-Qt, which is quite a cute option that's got a larger capacity than it looks. And the Dual Blaze, while it's not the most attractive, is one of the most powerful air fryers I've tried on account of its two heating zones.

Cosori air fryer deals at Amazon:

Our freelancer Camryn reviewed the Ninja Prestige XL Oven last month and gave it 4-stars. It's Ninja's latest and most capable countertop oven air fryer, ideal for those who easily run out of space in their oven.

Not all deals are good deals.

See, for example, the Instant Vortex Slim. I reviewed it only last week, and it performed well, so we ran a deals post on it earlier this week sharing its impressive price cut to $89 at Amazon. Well, that price has had a hike for Black Friday, going to $119 and reducing the saving on offer to just $10. That's the sort of saving you can pick up any day of the week.

If you're looking for a neat and compact option, you should instead take a look at the Ninja AF101 Air Fryer. It typically retails for $89, down to $69 at Amazon, and it's a neat option that hits very high temperatures.

I just bought this air fryer accessory

Not for me, but for my grandparents. I successfully converted them to the joys of air frying, especially as they have limited mobility, but it's hard to un-learn a lifetime of oven cooking. This Air Fryer Cheat Sheet Magnets Cooking Guide Booklet, down to $6.93 at Amazon came up on my quest to find the best Black Friday air fryer deals, and I think it's pretty clever.

The booklet magnetically attaches to your refrigerator and is a handy reminder of the times and temperatures you should opt for when air frying various foods. Because air fryers genuinely are faster than ovens due to their small size and in-built convection fans, it's easy to burn your food or scorch it when cooking on too high a heat, so this booklet is a great little reminder and a fantastic stocking-filler for air fryer converts like my grandparents.

Air Fryer Cheat Sheet Magnets Cooking Guide Booklet: was $14.95, now $6.93 @ Amazon

53% off? Don't mind if I do

I've seen this saving all over the internet, and while I've not tested it, it has all the attributes I look for in a good air fryer. A transparent cooking door is also a plus, as is its optional toss reminder setting, which alerts you halfway through cooking to give your fries or veggies a shake for a more even finish.

Back in stock!

The Cuisinart TOA-26 Compact Airfryer Toaster Oven sold out very shortly after I covered it yesterday, and with a 38% discount, it's easy to see why. Cuisinart toaster ovens have been incredibly popular this Black Friday, and finding one for under $80 is a real steal.

I suggest you pick this deal up before it sells out again!

(Image credit: KitchenAid | Best Buy)

This model from KitchenAid is technically a toaster oven that doubles as an air fryer, but it's a versatile little machine that takes up precious little counterspace, which makes it great for small kitchens. It’s simple, but attractive, with two dials to adjust the program and temperature. There are 9 settings to choose from altogether, but we found it performed best in terms of toasting — bread was evenly browned promptly — and making great fresh French fries. Our KitchenAid Digital Countertop Oven with Air Fryer review also highlighted how quiet it was in use.

Back in stock for Cyber Monday: my favorite slimline air fryer

(Image credit: Future / Millie Fender)

It's as if the air fryer Gods heard me when I complained that the Instant Vortex Slim had gone up in price last night, because it's back down to $79.99 @ Walmart.

I reviewed the Vortex Slim earlier this month and found that it packed an impressively large capacity into a seriously streamlined space. Better yet, the unusual shape doesn't impact the air frying performance.

Instant Vortex Slim: was $99, now $79 @ Walmart

The smartest air fryer we've ever tested just got even cheaper in Amazon's Cyber Monday sale. The Dreo ChefMaker has steam functions, which can be a game-changer for cooking vegetables and fish, and an in-built temperature probe that we used to cook steak and chicken to perfection.

The air fryer had already been reduced from $359 to $210 for Black Friday, but this Cyber Monday sale puts it down to $199 with an additional £11 saving.

The best air fryer deal for Cyber Monday

Now under $100 for the first time, this $70 saving on the Instant Vortex Plus 6QT Air Fryer at Amazon is not to be missed.

I was shocked when I tested this air fryer and found that the OdorErase tech really does work. Its in-built filter traps nasty cooking smells and keeps your kitchen fresh and clean, whether you're cooking bacon or broccoli.
