Nottingham Forest’s unbeaten run was extended on Friday night as they claimed a 3-2 win over Stoke City - and they will be hoping to keep up their good run of form when they make the trip to Blackburn Rovers.
The three points temporarily moved the Reds to top of the Sky Bet Championship with 18 points from their opening nine league matches.
But West Bromwich Albion’s win over Queens Park Rangers, and Swansea City’s 1-1 draw with Reading, meant that Sabri Lamouchi’s side dropped to third place following Saturday’s matches.
Leeds United suffered a shock defeat as they lost 1-0 away to Charlton Athletic, which leaves them one point behind Forest in fourth place in the league table.
Preston North End and Bristol City played out a 3-3 draw at Deepdale, while Sheffield Wednesday dismantled Middlesbrough 4-1 at the Riverside Stadium.
