Tracking down the perfect pair of jeans is like finding a needle in a haystack.
Not only do you have to get your head around various styles, such as mum jeans, boyfriend jeans, high waisted jeans and skinny jeans, but you have to find the right colour – black, light blue, dark blue or faded – and a good quality brand, which fits to your body shape (and won’t stretch or shrink at merely the sight of a washing machine).
The best jeans for women are ones you can wear from desk to dinner, which flatter in all the right places and won’t make you feel uncomfortable and sucked in. Essentially, they should feel like an extension of your skin, just as comfortable as your favourite pair of leggings.
Much to our delight, with trends moving far away from figure-hugging skinny jean styles of the 2010s, instead favouring wide-leg and slouchy cuts, finding such a pair is easier than ever.
Here, we round up the best jeans to shop in 2024.

Which jeans are most flattering?
Different fits work for different body shapes. The rise, leg shape and length that you choose come down to a few key things, including your height and what else you’re styling them with. For example, wide-leg styles work well with tanks, tees and slim-fit knitwear that help to balance proportions.
What colour jeans go with everything?
Classic indigo blue and black washed jeans are favourites for a reason. But lighter shades and white or ecru pairs also have versatile styling options. Think about the rest of your wardrobe – do you wear mostly black or lots of colour – and work backwards to fill any gaps.
