'There's no fear in Bruno', Eddie Howe's glowing tribute to Newcastle United star

Eddie Howe says that Bruno Guimaraes showed "real intelligence" during his sparkling display against Wolverhampton Wanderers. The midfielder was ice cool during the slender victory over the European contenders and won five tackles when it came to the rougher stuff.

After handing Bruno a start, Howe reflected: "He did very well today in, as I said, a very difficult game. He showed real intelligence in possession and in terms of his positioning, and his desire to get on the ball is so strong.

"There's no fear in Bruno, he wants to be on the ball in every moment and that's in part why we love him so much."

Looking back on the defensive side of Bruno's game, Howe said: "Also defensively, the discipline, the positioning, the attitude to recover his shape and to help his team-mates out of possession was very good because as we know, the Premier League is very different and that was always probably going to be the biggest challenge for him, adapting to the speed of the league. But he had no issues vs Wolves."
