'There's lots of interest' - Russell Martin confirms clubs circling for Swansea City stars Jamie Paterson and Michael Obafemi

Russell Martin says there is plenty of interest in attacking duo Michael Obafemi and Jamie Paterson, but says the club are prepared for all possibilities over the course of the January window.

Armstrong Oko-Flex followed fellow loanee Fin Stevens to become the latest member of Martin's squad to head for the exit this week, with his return to West Ham United confirmed on Friday morning.

Obafemi and Paterson are widely expected to also depart this month, although there isn't any imminent movement at this stage.

After attracting interest from them last summer, Obafemi is understood to still be a target for Championship rivals Burnley, while it seems the Swans are willing to listen to offers for Paterson, who has an admirer in Mark Robins at hometown club Coventry City.

However, there isn't yet a concrete bid on the table for either of them at this stage and, given the unpredictable nature of the transfer window, Martin hasn't ruled out the duo staying beyond the end of the month.

But he admits teams are beginning to circle.

"There's been lots of interest," Martin replied when quizzed on the pair. "As there would be. In him and Pato because they're both players who have shown, last season in particular, they can be effective performers at this level.

"We stay in touch. We talk about it. We had a really good chat with Michael on Tuesday. He's in a really good place. Just wait and see what happens.

"The door's not shut here, but with everything that's going on we just have to wait and see how it affects them and the group.

"But there's definite interest in both players as there would be naturally. But we'll have to wait and see what that comes to.

"I think we're prepared for anything really. We have to be. It's why we have so many meetings and we're so clear on what we want to do and succession planning for everyone.

"But it's really different to Fin Stevens and Armstrong Oko-Flex financially, so if at some point an offer comes in that either player likes and we like and it helps us, then of course we'll have to wait and see.

"Until then, they're both here. They're both training hard and they need to try and force their way back into our plans as quickly as possible.

"I don't know. We'll have to wait and see how they train. See the situation is with both of them. We'll just have to wait and see. I guess you'll find out on Sunday."
