Callum Wilson believes that Newcastle United are starting reap the benefits of the club’s Saudi-led takeover. Wilson feels that Eddie Howe has been allowed to slowly build a version of Newcastle that can succeed while also spending money sensibly along the way.
Newcastle’s 12-month takeover anniversary passed with the club sitting in a European qualification spot, and Wilson said: "It's been a slow process, but it has been a process that has been a positive one. We knew when the takeover went through happened it was going to have to be a transitional period.
"But within that we bought in the right players and the manager came in. He slowly got a philosophy, there is an aura about us and we are full of confidence. You are confident in your team-mates."

Newcastle beat Everton 1-0 in midweek and while Wilson didn’t get in on the goalscoring act, he said confidence is flowing.
"At the minute it's weird to say but you feel like you are going to out and win most games," he added. "That's when you know you are in a good place physically and mentally. And I think the team is going in the right direction. You give the manager great credit and you know if we keep clean sheets we have a chance."
And as Newcastle prepare to take on Spurs on Sunday, Wilson insisted there is plenty of room for improvement after a narrow win against Everton.
Wilson said: "It's not where we feel our performances should and could be but I think we got above. We fought and scored a goal at a great time. Our overall performance was top notch."
