The most wonderful time of the year is coming. And no, it’s not Christmas.
It’s the most hallowed day for any shopaholic or frugal penny pincher. Yes, folks, it’s Black Friday.
While we may have borrowed the ‘holiday’ off our American friends, it’s now one of the biggest sale days of the calendar year. And since adopting it, it’s become clear that there are four distinct types of Black Friday shoppers.
If you spot yourself below then congratulations, you’re the ultimate Black Friday-lover.
The In-N-Out
They’re making the most of the deals to get ahead on their Christmas shopping (or because that one shirt that they’ve had their eye on all year is finally reduced at David Jones). Don’t even think about asking them if they want to window shop or grab a coffee in the food court at Chadstone. They know what they want and they’re gonna get it, (like nabbing their Calvin Klein underwear in under 25 minutes).
The Sale-Lover
Black Friday is their Christmas. They’re spreading the gospel weeks before Black Friday in order to help their friends and family get the best deals. They definitely buy more than they need to but hey, “It was $100 off!”. They love IRL shopping in order to try everything on and mark off stores like a checklist. Spot them stocking up on legacy brands including North Face, Sunglass Hut, and Le Creuset.
The Meanderer
They can spend hours (slowly) walking from shop to shop. They’ll stop in at Hoyts, grab a Boost Juice and Daniel’s Donuts in between shopping every sale and wondering if their best friend’s mum’s cousin needs a new necklace from Pandora. Spot them cruising around Sass & Bide and INCU this Black Friday. Meanderers have to shop with other meanderers. If you get a meanderer and a sale-lover together? Pfft. You may as well say that a gemini and a scorpio can be friends because WOW are they incompatible.
The Bougie Boutique Babe
This person loooves the finer things in life. However, like most of us, they’re on a budget that doesn’t always favour their extra style. On Black Friday, spot them in the more expensive stores like Coach, Longchamp and Bally getting their fashion fix.
