Get ready for some clucking good fun as the world’s largest chicken wing festival is set to be held at Manchester’s Trafford Centre for the first time.
Manchester Wing Fest, which has been previously held at First Street South, will showcase a range of restaurants, street food traders and pop-ups from across the UK, who will display their culinary talents and compete against each other. The competition is split into two categories: the best buffalo wing; the battle for who can execute the perfect classic spicy sauce, and the best wild wing; where the traders can let their creativity run wild with flavours and toppings.
Festival goers can enjoy local favourites such as Kong’s Chicken Shop, Wing Dash and Yard and Coop, as well as discovering new wings from all around the UK, including the award-winning Mexican Seoul. The competition will be fierce as all wing slingers will be competing to win votes and guarantee their spot in the Hall of Flame. A huge 6,000 chicken wing fans will have the opportunity to cast their votes across each of the two categories.

A spokesperson for the festival says: "Wing Fest’s competitions will be held on both days, and it’s set to get seriously heated with the deadly Lava Wing Challenge. Hosted by Clifton Chilli Club, it’s the UK’s hottest wing challenge, renowned for the carnage it causes and strictly for the brave.
"If you’re a true wing aficionado, then sign up for the Bull's-Eye Wing Eating competition hosted by Food Review Club. Competitors who are hungry enough, compete against each other to see who can eat the most chicken wings in the fastest time - easily the messiest spectacle across the two days."
Manchester Wing Fest goers can expect plenty of beer from Meantime Brewery, entertainment including live blues music, brass bands, axe throwing, games, and BBQ cooking demonstrations. Cocktails and bourbon master classes will be hosted by Horse With No Name and Jameson’s Orange, plus there will be DJs playing summer party vibe tunes into the night

The festival is on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 September 2022. Manchester Wing Fest tickets are now on sale here . Tickets cost from £17.50 for early birds and £20 thereafter with kids (under 12) going free. Tickets include a Wing Fest signature trucker hat, free access to all entertainment, live music, competitions, masterclasses, cooking demonstrations and games.
