Tiger Woods has been the face of golf since the late 1990s. And for the 2000s and the beginning of the 2010s, he was the face of golf video games.
His last cover came in 2013 for “Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2014,” where he stood next to the late, great Arnold Palmer.
As things outside of golf started to affect Woods’ life, his face and name stopped being associated with video games. For example, in 2015, EA Sports released “Rory McIlroy PGA Tour.”
Now, nine years after his last appearance, Woods will grace the cover of “PGA Tour 2K23,” donning his classic Sunday red and black.

On March 16, 2021, a long-term partnership between Woods and 2K was announced.
“I am looking forward to making my return to the video game landscape, and with 2K and HB Studios, I’ve found the right partners to make it happen,” said Tiger Woods via a press release. “I’m honored to take part in this opportunity and look forward to sharing my expertise and insights as we build the future of golf video games together.”
He’s played an active role as an executive director and consultant.
And, as you could expect, the world of golf was happy about the announcement.
