If you’re anything like me, your Monday nights have felt empty and meaningless since the masterpiece that is Season 3 of The White Lotus came to an end.
It’s not hard to see why, as the show clocked a whopping fifteen Emmys across its first two seasons and it’s third season was just as incredible.
Although our Monday night ritual has come to an end this year, The White Lotus was picked up for season four before season three even premiered. Thank you to the HBO Gods for understanding true beauty when it exists.
Since our new favourite ‘eat the rich’ extravaganza is coming back for a fourth rendition, we’ve pulled together everything we know so far. We’ll keep this updated as we learn more, so watch this space.

When is The White Lotus Season 4 coming out?
I’m going to try and put this gently.
We had to wait over two years between Season 2 and Season 3. By that trajectory, it’s really not looking good timeframe wise.
It’s understood that Season 4 of The White Lotus will begin production in 2026, so we can expect a drop at either the end of 2026 or early 2027.
In all honesty, I will be continuing to hope and plead for an earlier release date, but realistic expectations are everything.
We’ll probably need to sit tight for a little while longer.

Who’s starring in The White Lotus Season 4?
It’s still very early days on who we might see pop up on our screens for Season 4 of The White Lotus, and the show doesn’t really bring back characters except for a select few (Belinda, my beloved).

But never say never, as even creator Mike White has teased the possibility of recurring characters galore.
In a May 2023 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, White mentioned the possibility of bringing back past characters for an ‘all-star season’, adding that “It would be easy to just be full-on anthology, but I think it’s more fun to have little threads through the show.”

Where is Season 4 of The White Lotus taking place?
Nothing is set in stone yet, but again, people on the internet are going crazy with their own dream scenarios.

Season one of The White Lotus was set in Hawaii, season two in Sicily, and as we know, season three is currently unfolding in gorgeous Thailand. All three seasons have been shot in Four Seasons hotels too, so we can assume that consistency will remain.
Luckily for us, Deuxmoi just dropped a spicy blind item about where season four might be filmed. According to the post, creator Mike White has his heart set on Istanbul. He’s keen to explore its “urban setting” and its “unique position at the literal bridge between Europe & Asia”.
Plus, Istanbul is one of the “most modernised Muslim countries”, which could make for some fascinating storytelling. Sounds like a no-brainer, right? Well, not exactly.
The network is apparently “balking at the considerable expense of filming in one of the world’s most difficult-to-navigate cities”. Oh, and Turkey doesn’t offer production credits. That little detail was also why Thailand apparently edged out Japan for season three.
Meanwhile, Max (formerly HBO Max) is leaning towards Marrakech instead. Why? For starters, they’ve already got a cushy deal with the Four Seasons there, which hosts film stars during Moroccan shoots. Plus, Marrakech is no stranger to Hollywood productions. According to Deuxmoi, Max sees this as a more practical option since “S4 production can’t start until late summer”, and both locations have “relatively mild winters”.
On the other hand, a source spoke to Parade in February 2025, flagging that producers were scouting different locations.
“Right now, it’s looking like the next season of The White Lotus will be shot in Egypt or Mexico,” the source told Parade. “They want to pick somewhere they haven’t shot yet, so a new continent. They want to go somewhere completely new since this season is in Asia, which is why they’re between the two. The decision should be made soon.”
Personally, I’m team Mexico. The hungover burrito bowls would go crazy.
What will the newest season be about?
All three seasons of The White Lotus have started off in a similar vein — a murder mystery, which then sets the basis of the entire season as we discover what unfolded.
Can we assume that season four of The White Lotus will follow the same structure? Maybe, but alas, our fan-favourite theme song of seasons one & two disappeared for season three, so there’s no telling what could change.

Back in May 2023, White told The Hollywood Reporter about his flexibility with the future direction of the show.
“I don’t think it needs to always be a body. There are so many ways that we want to reinvent the show each year. Like, what is this show – other than people? A fresh mystery, people maybe expect that. But I don’t feel constrained by expectation. It’s fun.”
One thing is for certain, and it’s that our favourite showrunner already has an idea of how Season 4 of The White Lotus will run. It was reported back in November 2024 that he had already begun pitching ideas to Casey Bloys, HBO and Max Content CEO.
As I wait with anticipation, I’ll be rewatching The White Lotus Season 3 all over again on BINGE, before it heads to Max later this year.
