I hate to admit it, but it’s going to be a bittersweet day for The White Lotus fans today as season three ends. We’ve been patiently waiting for the episode that’ll answer all our burning questions, even if we know it means officially saying goodbye till we meet again.
So far, series creator Mike White has been teasing a pretty slow burn. Who is the shooter this season? Who’s the body floating in the water? And will my girl Chelsea (Aimee Lou Wood) survive the last episode despite all the viral fan theories??
Thankfully, it seems like White is aware of how much ground he’s got to cover, given the finale is going to be the longest episode in The White Lotus history. Yep, you read that right! So, let’s get straight to it.

What time does The White Lotus season 3 finale air in Australia?
The last episode of season three drops on Monday, 7 April at 11:10am AEDT.
It’s going to be nearly 90 minutes, marking the longest episode of the series to date. (I did some digging and the longest episode before this was the season two finale, which was 12 minutes shorter at one hour and 18 minutes.)
What is the plot of the season three finale?
Bestie, your guess is as good as mine, because there are a lot of loose ends to tie up!
Apart from the fate of my personal fave Chelsea, there’s questions regarding every single other guest we’ve met at the Thailand hotel.
Will security guard Gaitok (Tayme Thapthimthong) confront the Russians, given what he pieced together about the robbery earlier in the season?
Will Belinda (Natasha Rothwell) accept the money from Greg/Gary (Jon Gries) in exchange for her silence?
And what’s going to happen with the Ratliffs, especially ol’ mate Timothy (Jason Isaacs) and his dark suicidal thoughts lately?

If you’re keen to indulge in some guesswork before the finale, there’s most certainly a trailer you can check out!
It starts off with some ~mysterious~ fumigation as smoke takes over the typically green surrounds of the Thai resort.
We then see Timothy inquiring about the poisonous fruit he was warned about in the very first episode, in what’ll probably be a shout-out to every fan theory out there about the fruit and Saxon’s (Patrick Schwarzenegger) blender.
“Locals actually call it the ‘Suicide Tree’ so don’t eat it,” Pam (Morgana O’Reilly) warns him.
We also see Belinda, her son Zion (Nicholas Duvernay) and Greg/Gary talk some more about the money before we see glimpses of a tense Gaitok, a pretty happy Chelsea and Rick (Walter Goggins) frolicking on the beach, and Jaclyn (Michelle Monaghan) asking about her friend Laurie (Carrie Coon).
There’s a real close-up shot of that darn blender and boy, it feels more and more like we’re about to see a poisonous protein shake.
But maybe Mike White might throw a spanner in the works?? Lord knows he loves to keep us White Lotus fans on our toes.
Do we have any hints from the finale title?
Eagle-eyed Redditors have noticed the season three finale title, which is “Amor Fati” or “love of fate” in Latin.
“‘Amor Fati’ isn’t about control – it’s the opposite. You stop fighting the chaos and find some wild beauty in it. Like, imagine reliving your worst day forever and somehow grinning through it […]
“The show’s always loved dark comedy over clean endings, so I’m betting it’s less about who dies and more about who stops running from fate. A vibe shift where they love the disaster they’re in, White Lotus style,” predicted one reddit user.
Another user figured it ties in pretty well with Timothy’s story so far.
“I think he will accept his fate, which is (ultimately) prison — and, with it, the destruction of his image and reputation. He’ll take the monk’s wisdom about the futility of running from pain to heart and accept it,” they wrote.
“In doing so, he’ll become a Buddhist of a kind. Not one that wears orange robes and lives in a monastery, but one that wears an orange jumpsuit and lives in a similarly barren environment. But, paradoxically, in his imprisonment, he’ll feel free. His ending will be bittersweet.”
What has The White Lotus cast said about the finale?
Now it wouldn’t be The White Lotus if the cast wasn’t playing it coy, so we’ll have to work with what we got.
As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Patrick Schwarzenegger said he has “no idea what happens” with the ending and his on-screen mum Parker Posey, who plays Victoria Ratliff, admitted she “forgot who died” after filming the last episode of season three.
Charlotte Le Bon (Chloe) teased that audiences “are going to hate Mike White” after the finale.
Meanwhile, series creator White stopped short of dropping any hints about what to expect.
“My hope is that it’ll feel like a cathartic sad or a satisfying sad and not a ‘What the fuck?’ sad,” he said, per the publication.
“But people are going to have a million different opinions. You just hope you stick the landing.”

Look, all I know is, I’ve got some pretty high hopes for the one and a half hour finale, given the relatively slow pace so far.
