For actors, landing a gig on The White Lotus feels like a dream. Not only is it one of the buzziest shows of the last few years, but the concept alone lets the cast travel to gorgeous locations to film in some of the world’s most beautiful resorts. You could sign me tf up from that alone, but now that an insider has revealed how much the cast gets paid to appear on The White Lotus, Mike White, please take this article as my formal application.
According to one of the series producers, David Bernard, the cast are paid a pretty penny per episode they appear on the show. What makes it unique is that every actor is paid the same, regardless of their star power.

“Everyone is treated the same on The White Lotus,” he said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
“They get paid the same, and we do alphabetical billing, so you’re getting people who want to do the project for the right reasons, not to quote The Bachelor.
“It’s a system we developed in the first season because there was no money to make the show.”
According to the publication, the stars of The White Lotus season one were paid around US $40,000 (approx. AU $63,000) per episode, no matter their individual star power. And according to Bernard, the key cast members are still paid equally.
According to other insider sources, The White Lotus cast are all paid around $40,000 USD ($63,215.20 AUD) per episode.
“It’s not negotiable,” Bernard said, speaking on the cast’s payment for appearing in the series.
Casting director Meredith Tucker says this approach has made things significantly easier for the cast and the crew.
“You tell people this is what it is. And some won’t do it — and honestly, you can’t hold it against people who need to make a living. Our series regulars are pretty much doing this for scale,” she said, per The Hollywood Reporter.
The publication also alleged that the strict salary prevented some high-profile names from signing on to The White Lotus season three.
Two insider sources told The Hollywood Reporter that Woody Harrelson was originally considered for the role of Rick Hatchett, played by Walton Goggins. However, he reportedly reached out to the CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery, David Zaslav to see if he could negotiate a higher wage.
The publication claims that Zaslav wouldn’t budge, and Harrelson signed on anyway — before dropping out due to scheduling conflicts.

It’s pretty impressive, especially when the cast is comprised of some huge names like Lalisa Manobal, Parker Posey, and Jason Isaacs. It just goes to show how much people love the series and what it represents.
Anyway, Mike White, if you’re reading this, I’m happy to accept significantly less than $40,000 per episode. Just so you know.
