Sometimes streetfood pop-ups and markets can be the best way to try new dishes and left-field choices that you might be a bit apprehensive to splash out on at a regular restaurant. One Swansea-based taco pop-up has really pushed the boat out with an out-there concept with a cult Mexican streetfood snack that incorporates salty tortilla chips, piquant sauce, cool cucumber and.... gummy sweets.
Cwtchitas are now selling their Dorilocos at their base in Founders & co. and the snack derives from a Mexican streetfood classic that combines salty, sweet and tart flavours. They are made from a packet of Doritos, flipped on the side, and cut open, topped with chamoy ( a sweet sour Mexican sauce made from fermented fruits), cubed cucumber, pink pickles onions, feta, flip flop sauce (Cwtchita's secret signature sauce) Valentina hot sauce, coriander, our spiced peanuts, tajin chilli lime salt, lime juice and last but the crucial part to make them loco, say the Cwtchiats team…. Gummy bears!

The Swansea taqueria told us: "Firstly people are a little unsure to try new things, we are constantly educating people on Mexican food even though it’s having a bit of a trend time at the moment, people still like to stick to what they know.
"But the feedback has been 'it’s like nothing I’ve had before' hits every taste on your tongue. One table ordered four bags just last night, they are strangely addictive!"
Cwtchitas will be selling their Dorilocos at Founders & co, where they can be found seven days a week. They also regularly pop up at different places across south Wales, so follow them, here, for their latest locations.
