That’s right. Each of the last four times the Compton MC has released an album, the Warriors have won a title. Sure, it’s not the most foolproof formula, but it has been bearing fruit throughout Golden State’s dynastic run.

The year they claimed their first title in 2015, Kendrick released To Pimp A Butterfly that March. In April 2017, he put out DAMN. before the Warriors bounced back from their 2016 loss. And when they repeat in 2018, he released the Black Panther soundtrack that February.
Like the Warriors, Kendrick had been on a bit of a hiatus since that last title but re-emerged with Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers in May. And what do you know, the Warriors are back at the top of the mountain. If that ain’t symmetry, I don’t know what is.
