'The warring Conservative party is an embarrassment Britain simply can't afford'

Fighting like ferrets in a sack, the Conservative Government is an embarrassment the country cannot afford.

If Rishi Sunak listened to the people he would call an immediate general election instead of preparing to fight three Tory by-elections triggered by Boris Johnson jumping before he was pushed out of Parliament.

By resisting that general election, we all know the frightened Prime Minister is putting his own privileged post before the national interest, and his party before the country.

No one can come out of this Tory meltdown with any credit as they sideline the cost of living crisis to play political games and blame each other for the mess they are in.

They are not capable of running a bath, never mind a country facing multiple challenges exacerbated by Conservative incompetence, rivalries and wrong answers.

The general election we deserve cannot come soon enough.

Public want danger dog curbs

Overwhelming public backing for the Daily Mirror’s campaign for action to stop savage dogs killing people is a wake-up call for politicians.

With four in five voters demanding tougher action, this could be an important general election issue behind the cost of living, NHS and other prominent problems.

The huge 83% support for the Mirror’s demands indicates that responsible dog owners are on our side too, and Labour leader Keir Starmer is on to a vote winner by vowing the review the defective Dangerous Dogs Act if he becomes Prime Minister.

Action must replace inaction or more men, women and children will die needlessly.
