The Wanted star Tom Parker’s wife held his hand as he died and said it was "beautiful until the very end".

Kelsey Parker, 32, said Tom had earlier taken off his wedding ring and put it on her finger in an "exchange of love".

The pair then lay together on his bed in a hospice before he died in March aged 33 after an 18-month battle with brain cancer.

But she reassured fans that Tom was not in pain and there "was so much love in that room".

Kelsey, who had been in a relationship with Tom since their teens, told The Sun: "He was always so romantic, loving and caring."

Recalling their final night after Tom had been in the south London hospice for a week, she said she could see "within him that he was still trying to figure a way out of this".

Kelsey reassured him that she and the children would be fine. He replied he knew she would and took off his ring.

She said: "It was that exchange of love. We were so in love.

"He had this look in his eyes, it was the fear of leaving me. He was looking at me, ‘How can I leave you?’

"I think he knew then it was the end but he still had the Tom fight in him. He didn’t want to go."

The couple had two children, Aurelia, two, and Bodhi, one.

Following the tragic death, Parker’s bandmates revealed that they would be releasing a charity single in memory of the star. Proceeds from the single, Gold Forever (For Tom) will go towards The Brain Tumour Charity.
