The Wanted's Tom Parker remembered at the Grammys after tragic death aged just 33

Tom Parker was remembered in The Grammys In Memoriam segment.

The Wanted singer tragically passed away at the age of 33 after a battle with a brain tumour, and he was one of the stars remembered in a segment during the annual music awards ceremony in Las Vegas tonight.

Many stars were honoured in the tributes tonight, including Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins, who passed away recently, as well as musical legend Stephen Sondheim, who died in November 2021.

Tom was shown on screen during the segment, where Ben Platt, Cynthia Erivo, Leslie Odom Jr and Rachel Zegler sang a medley of Sondheim songs as they paid tribute to the stars that had been lost this year.

His wife Kelsey confirmed the tragic news of Tom's passing earlier this week.

She wrote on Instagram : "It is with the heaviest of hearts that we confirm Tom passed away peacefully earlier today with all of his family by his side. Our hearts are broken.

"Tom was the centre of our world and we can’t imagine life without his infectious smile and energetic presence. We are truly thankful for the outpouring of love and support and ask that we all unite to ensure Tom’s light continues to shine for his beautiful children."

She added: "Thank you to everyone who has supported in his care throughout, he fought until the very end. I’m forever proud of you."

Kelsey has since set up a fundraising page for fans who want to pay their tributes to the late singer.

The GoFundMe page originally began with a £5,000 target, but it has now reached a huge £35,000.

"We want to take everyone’s incredible love, support and generosity and turn our grief into something positive and to keep Tom’s memory alive forever," Kelsey wrote alongside the page.

"We politely request that instead of gifts and flowers, donations are made to this GoFundMe account with all proceeds eventually going to amazing causes in Tom’s name, to help others in need."

She added: "We simply couldn’t have got through the last 2 years without the help and support we have received and if we can offer it back to others that would be the best way to honour Tom and make our two children, Aurelia and Bodhi proud."
