The Wanted's Tom Parker nominated for posthumous National Television Award

Tom Parker has been posthumously nominated for a National Television Award for his film Inside My Head.

The Wanter star made the documentary five months before he tragically died from brain cancer, aged 33.

After being diagnosed with the terminal tumour, Tom campaigned for brain cancer awareness and organised a star-studded concert, called Inside My Head, at the Royal Albert Hall last September.

The smash-hit show raised money for Stand Up To Cancer and The National Brain Appeal.

The Channel 4 documentary of the same name followed the singer organising the gig alongside footage of him and his family learning to live with his illness.

Tom could be seen fighting until the end, even performing with The Wanted on tour, but on March 30 the star sadly lost his battle with the disease.

The singer's widow Kelsey paid a heartbreaking tribute to her late husband on their wedding anniversary last month.

The pair married in July 2018 and shared two children, Aurelia, two and Bodhi, 20 months.

Celebrating their time together Kelsey shared a montage of clips of their special wedding day on her Instagram page.

The videos see the happy couple singing and dancing together, including a moment where Tom takes over the mic to perform for his guests.

As she shared the footage, Kelsey admitted that while some would want to relive their wedding day, she would do anything just to have a hug from her late husband.

She wrote in the caption: "Never did I ever think this is how I’d be celebrating our 4 year wedding anniversary Tom.

Tom's bandmate Max George also paid tribute to his friend on what would have been his 34th birthday,

The singer has had Tom’s birth date tattooed across his collarbone as a way of celebrating the life of his "best bud".

Tom's documentary will go up against Kate Garraway, who won the authored documentary category last year for a programme about Derek Draper, who spent a year in hospital being treated for coronavirus.

Also nominated in the category is Katie Price : What Harvey Did Next; Julia Bradbury: Breast Cancer And Me; and Paddy and Christine McGuinness: Our Family And Autism.
