Gabriel T. Rubin can't be happy right now.
A screenshot of a Wall Street Journal article he authored on Feb. 15 is making the rounds on social media, and, admittedly, it's pretty cringeworthy.

The headline makes it seem as though the article is an opinion piece, making a reasoned suggestion for denying oneself the most important meal of the day to save money.
But in actuality, the article is 250 words documenting the year-over-year price increases of breakfast staples like orange juice and eggs.
It's a benign article that takes no objective position and makes no comment on the cost-benefit analysis of starving oneself to make ends meet.
But that headline is red meat for the culture war that rages on social media every day.
The irony of these tweets from Republicans, of course, is that John Kennedy's Republican Senate colleague Rick Scott (FL) is currently in the news as an example of Republicans decades-long mission to eliminate Social Security and Medicare.
Meanwhile one Democrat at least had a productive idea to combat the completely absurd idea proposed by the inflammatory headline.
Even Libertarian Twitter got in on the fun of the hate pile-on.
Our sympathies should lay with Gabriel because he probably didn't even pick that title, but as everyone knows, no one reads past the headline.
