The Voice's Remember Monday praise coach Jennifer Hudson who helped fund new music video

Remember Monday, a band which rose to fame on The Voice, have praised their former show coach Jennifer Hudson, and revealed the superstar has helped fund the music video for their new single.

The trio got to the quarter finals of The Voice in 2019, and are remembered for performing their own original song over a cover during the show.

Band members, Lauren Byrne, Holly-Anne Hull and Charlotte Steele, all who met at sixth form college, say Jennifer is still supporting them, as they release their new single Nothing Nice To Say, out today.

The trio, who have been singing together since 2011, said: "As women, we frequently feel like we can't say enough without saying “too much”.

"Collectively, we have learned so many lessons living as women in this world. Jennifer Hudson, our former coach on The Voice, empathises with the message of Nothing Nice to Say and helped us fund our music video for the song – her support has been amazing.

"When Jennifer Hudson takes a vested interest in the projects you're working on, you know it will be an exciting release!"

Nothing Nice to Say is taken from Remember Monday's forthcoming EP release, Hysterical Women.

The songs are the result of five years of work and have been written at different times, but, the band say, share a theme of frustration and female empowerment.

As well as performing in Remember Monday, the band members have solo careers. Lauren is currently playing Miss Honey in the West End production of Matilda. Her previous credits include Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cinderella and Six The Musical.

Holly is the alternate Christine Daaé in the West End production of Phantom of the Opera. In the past she has appeared in Les Miserables and Loserville.

Charlotte is the deputy head of a performing arts sixth form, and also works as a freelance choreographer.

The 2019 season of The Voice UK was won by Molly Hocking, coached by popstar and former X Factor star Olly Murs.

Remember Monday's debut single Drive got to number one in the iTunes Country Music Chart.

In October, Sir Tom Jones’ mentee Anthonia Edwards beat out David Adeogun to take home the coveted record deal, in the most recent season of The Voice UK.

After the announcement by host Emma Willis, a stunned Anthonia stood on stage motionless for a moment as David rushed to congratulate her.

David said: “I’ve had the most incredible time and I honestly want to say I’m so gassed that Anthonia has won this. She is incredible. To Olly, you are incredible, thank you so much.”

Anthonia then said: “This has been one of the best journeys I’ve ever been on. I’ve become the person I’ve always wanted to be.

“Working hard and just really sharing messages through song. The fact it connected with you all is just my dream. Sir Tom – the coolest guy. Thank you.”
