The View's Kieren Webster takes mum along to TRNSMT

The View's bass player Kieren Webster brought his lovely mum to TRNSMT and made the Glasgow festival a real family affair.

Kieren was keen to keep his nearest and dearest with him as he wandered around backstage and also brought along his wife.

He said: “It’s been great to be back here. I brought my mum with me today.”

His mum added: “I’m so proud of him. I’ve got all the newspaper cuttings from his band over the years.”

During their gig, the View admitted they were buzzing to play Glasgow with Dundee born Kyle Falconer asking the crowd: “Does it get any better than Glasgow?”

After they played, guitarist Pete Reilly confirmed it was great to be back playing festivals with the other lads in the band at TRNSMT.

Pete who enjoyed exploring around the VIP area at the festival said after his set: “ That was crazy. I’m definitely getting older because that was a young crowd but it was good, so good. It’s good to be back playing fessies with the boys.

He laughed: “It’s been five or six years and it’s not really changed because we’re still playing the first album, the majority. I’m only joking.”

"We’ve got a new album coming out in August and some good Scottish shows for the end of the year so look out for that. Apart from that we will be going into the next year touring the album.”

Pete spent his time away from the band playing with Echo and The Bunnymen. Meh said: “That’s my wee jaunt off the View. It’s good man. The Bunnymen are legends os to be part of that and get asked to do it, is unreal. I’m getting more gothy looking with it.”
