'The upper hand' - Kevin De Bruyne sends Premier League title warning to Liverpool

Kevin De Bruyne has sent a warning to Liverpool after their draw with Manchester City.

The Reds had to settle for a point in their 2-2 draw with Man City in the Premier League clash at the Etihad Stadium. Diogo Jota and Sadio Mane got the goals for the visitors, with a strike in each half.

Jurgen Klopp’s side remain one point behind Man City with seven matches left to play. The two teams meet again in the semi-final of the FA Cup this weekend.

De Bruyne scored Man City’s opening goal, before Gabriel Jesus got the home side’s second strike. And the Belgium international has issued a warning in the title race to Liverpool.

“Today we played very well, we had the upper hand, we didn’t win,” De Bruyne told Sky Sports. “But this is the way we need to play for the rest of the game.

“I think it’s similar [the affect a draw has on the title race], people spoke whoever wins the title goes to there but I don’t think neither team thought that.

“The schedule is tough for both teams to win the games, we’re going to try but the way we played today is the way we need to move forward.”
